I watched a TV news report here in Orlando yesterday that said that replacement parts are now available here in the Central Florida area. They also said the repair is recommended for all affected Fords, even those not yet officially recalled. The report quoted a dealer charge of $60-$70 if the repair is done on a non-recalled vehicle.
Houndog,
You think 2-3 hours is bad, my dealer said I had to leave it a half a day...what it comes down to is that this is "warranty" work that the dealer does not "profit" on as much as "non-warranty" work. They want to fit us in the gaps between the high paying jobs...we are just an annoyance...

i think it was 9/16 wrench on the old one and like a 1 inch wrench for the new sensor, also come with a new joiner wire, that adapts the plugs.
I had mine doen this morning. In at 6:45 A.M. out at 7:30. here is a pic of the new switch and connector harness.

Took it in to the dealer this afternoon.... I waited about 40 minutes and it is the exact same thing as posted in the pictures in this thread including the cable tie to make it tidy.
According to the invoice the part number is:
1L1Z-9F924-AA (KIT-BRAKE RE)
I can't give you the price since it was warranty work....

List on the kit is 18.98, Southwest ford's price : 11.96. Add in shipping, and the total for a non-TX dest ( no sales tax ) is 20.30. Depending on your location shipping might change, mine was DFW to ORD.
Just drop oemfordparts.com an email. Jerry got me the part in a flash ( under a week start of email to it being on my door step ). Just need to get it installed this weekend, I am still using JMC's mod for the moment, so no big hurry for me. Thanks for posting the part number bobb. Jerry said they have no problem getting the parts since the release of them in APR, so any dealer telling you they can't get them, must be fibbing.
I would suggest that guys who do this for piece of mind that are not CURRENTLY on the recall list to save your reciepts...Ford will reimburse you WHEN all of our vehicles that have the bad switch get recalled..
