Just FYI.

mine was in thompson ohio and it was about 45F outside. i have no idea of altitude difference either. i was just happy to get into the 16s. i have had a whole bunch of people tell me my V6 truck might do it in 17.5-18 seconds. i was hoping to get in the 16s or get it over 80mph. i had one guy tell me i might possibly hit 65mph. boy was he wrong. hes one of those guys who knows how to do everything and knows about everything but works maintenance(sweeping floors) at walmart. said he had a 70s thunderbird that he got to 170mph. which is complete BS.

For all those wondering about whether or not your Edge is accuarte on 0-60, it's not. I ran mine numerous times when I had it and then took mine to the strip and did the same. The 0-60 calculations just does not add up to the 1/4 times I was running. Low 16's does not = high 6's 0-60. Also, the 1/4 calculator also read fast compared to what I really ran at the strip. It wasn't terribly off but still off. Much closer than the 0-60 thing though.
Motortrend tested a new '09 F-150 and got 0-60 in 8.1 with a 1/4 of 16.2@87.5 They also ran a Tundra in the test and it ran 0-60 in 6.5 but ran the 1/4 in 15.1@91.8 For all those thinking they can run in the 6's go race a Tundra and see what happens. The other thing that stinks about this comparision is how F-150 guys used to be able to say you paid more for your Tundra to get the extra power so it wasn't a fair comparision. Not anymore.

Not trying to burst bubbles but just telling it like it is.

what is your rear end gearing? if your 0-60 is that much quicker than mine, your 1/4 time should be a lot quicker than it is, unless your gearing is different. you have a truck that is over 450Lbs lighter, plus all your mods where i just have my intake. i can see your 0-60 being 8.1 or so but your truck must loose its power after 60. do you have 3.08 gears? i could see why it slows down that bad if thats the case.

you said you had a 16.78 run, with 3.55s and all your mods plus being more than 450Lbs lighter than mine, you should be doing better than just .15 seconds quicker than me. are you sure it wasnt a 15.78? do you remember the mph you were at? if you are running a 16.78 you should be in the neighborhood of 83-85mph i would guess. if you are running 15.78 i would say about 90mph.
on another note, a lot of these numbers people are putting down are not right, you are going by GPS or your tuners or whatever. some may be close or right on but most probably arent. i dont trust GPS systems. they are delayed. your signal has to go from your truck's gps, to the satillite, then back to your truck to read it. ever try out your TV's dish or digital cable? a lot of channels are on there twice. on most of them, one is a few seconds behind the other because of how it is linked or how many satillites it has to go thru or whatever. just think about that. best 2 ways to do it is take your truck to a drag strip and run. compare your times with what other people are running and you can get a pretty good estimate. or just use a good ol stopwatch like i did. i took a video of mine, then later on i clocked the video. that way you arent fumbling for a button while driving. take a video and clock it later.

i just found out why your truck isnt much quicker than mine... you have an extended cab. so your truck is actually about equal weight as mine. mine weighs 4364Lbs according to my state registration. sooner or later i will get it weighed on a scale to see how much it really weighs, same with a dyno. just found out there is a shop that has a dyno in it so i might take a trip down there sooner or later too. the stock 4.2L is rated 202hp but with an auto it only puts about 165hp to the rear wheels. with a estimate calculator on the internet it came out to mine being about 185hp at the wheels. it calcualtes the weight and 1/4 time to calculate an estimated RWHP. if i find out my truck is lighter than it is supposed to be, then i will know what it is until i go to a dyno.

also since you have an extended cab, im guessing you also have an auto tranny which would also explain a big part of it. you have 4 gears, i have 5 so your tranny is lower gear ratios which would hurt your acceleration also. so actually for what you have...your 0-60 in 8.1 seconds is pretty impressive.

yeah so you have ext cab, auto tranny, bigger tires, and the weight of your sound system in there. but still, 8.1 0-60 is impressive with that stuff holding it back. but now i see why it would be an 8.10-60 with a 16.78 1/4 time.
mine has amller tires, manual tranny reg cab, shortbed, and no sound system. heck mine still has the factory radio. no tape or cd, just radio. i was gonna put in the cd player i have but it has been messing up when it was in my last truck. so i want a new one and now it is getting kind of cold outside so i dont wanna spend a few hours outside putting in a cd player and amp and sub i have with it being clod outside.
