Post High mileage F-150s

Everyone post your miles especially high mileage ones.

Miles I have seen on other trucks

93 2wd 300 6 cyl. auto over 500,000 last time I saw on original motor and trans.

My dads last truck 87 300 6 cyl. 230,000 miles 180,000 on trans.

His current truck 90 302 aod 160,000 original motor and trans.

87-91 model truck over 300,000 miles on 300 6 on third mazda 5 speed

93 extended cab 4wd 302 e40d 210,000 miles original motor and trans. I spent the weekend in this one pulling a gooseneck with either cows or horses in it. This truck absolutely runs perfect. Extremely tight.

'91 F-150, 82,000 miles on original engine and transmission. Tranny fluid always red. Engine using oil, tho.

Used for pulling a 2-horse gooseneck before I bought it. Still pulling trailers--probably a 3-horse gooseneck before too much longer.

(The 302 is leaving--351W will be installed.)

1989 F-150 4x4 5.0 Aod. 146000miles. Truck runs better now then when I got it with 116000 in 1999. When I first got it, it had been sitting for awile, used a bit of oil, got about 10mpg on the highway, wouldn't go over 75mph. but with some backyard know-how and TLC, it runs a alot better, gets 16mpg, uses no oil, and tops at around 85mph with 31" tires.

Past high mileage Ford trucks:

1991 F-250 XLT 7.5L/5-speed 129000miles, no problems, other than had to replace ac cycle switch, clutch, front pads, speedometer gear. Oh and Factory radio light.

1987 F-150 XLT 5.0L/C-6 had 155000miles when we sold it in 1989, owner still has it, has 210000miles, original 302, rebuilt the C-6.

1986 F-150 XLT 5.8H.O. C-6 197000miles as of last spring, all original except ac compressor and several other little items.

A neighbor of mine has a 1981 F-150 that he bought new in 1981. It has the 4.9l I-6 and the truck has exactly 526000miles. Of course the drivetrain's been completely replaced, transmission twice.

1974 F100
302/3 speed manual
180,000 original motor, trans, interior, and paint (except for quite a few fiberglass rust repairs). Runs great and won't quit.
Driven almost daily.

Cool

Currently: Bought it with 94,000 kms (58,750 miles) - April 1999 and now have 135,000 kms (84,375 miles) on it. All original except for left front fender, front bumper and fill-in piece above bumper. Plan on selling this one with just as much as the odometer had on it in my '87.

Past: '87 Reg. Cab, Long box, 300 I-6, 4 speed manual, all original. Bought in June 1993 with 120,000 kms (75,000 miles) and sold it in June 1999 with 305,000 kms (190,625 miles) and to this day is still running around on the roads. Mom & Dad sees it every so often.

It is going to be a sad day when I have to get rid of the '94 because I don't really like the design on the '97 -> current F150's bodies but I do love the SuperDuties and probably end up buying one of those for my next truck. Oh decisions BUT hey, that is going to a long time down the road. With current monthly kms travelled, it should take me about another 5 1/2 years to get to the 305,000 kms mark. Hmmm, wonder what the 2006 trucks will look like then ... maybe they will be flying by that time.

Have Fun & Keep on Truckin'

Wink

My 90 xlt 4x4 sc with 302 and AOD currently has 227,000. Second engine and I just rebuilt the tranny myself 1000 miles ago. Runs excellent now. I had put some 25,000 miles on it without overdrive as it had given out but now my milage has gone up some 4mpg to about 12.

My 96 4x4 302 has 101,000 right now, everything original.
Not sure if it counts, but my 64 Ranchero has 289,000 miles on it and has been used for everything including hauling wood.

Got 250 on my rebuilt 302! (That's 250, not 250,000). Sorry, I know 250 doesn't exactly qualify as high mileage Maybe we can start a thread for the lowest mileage F-150's! Well, my truck has 92,000 on it, a tad young to need a rebuilt engine, but what the heck.

Cool

Rich,
It's a teal reg cab with chrome bed rails & tailgate rail, chrome along the bottom, chrome fender flares, chrome front bumper, chrome camper tiedowns, wheels,... you get the idea...I like chrome. I'd like to get a grill guard and chrome rear bumper but $$ is short.

It's got dual exhaust and I just ordered a K&N today. I am going to get the Superchip from Mike T. as soon as I can afford it.

I also added a CD player. Other than that is is pretty plain Jane, just an XL model.

How about yours?

My grandpa's '90 F-150 XLT 4x4 (5.8/E4OD) has 202,000 miles now. The engine is original, and the tranny was replaced around 120,000 miles.
