Question

Hey Texas Man (and others) -
I have a 1996 f150/302 with 65,000 miles on it (I bought it with 32,000). I know that this doesn't qualify for high milage but would like to one day. I would like to have this truck for 15 more years if possible. I regularly change the oil at 3,000 miles and had the trans. fluid changed at 55,000. I have new plugs and wires and a K&N air filter. I would really like to know what else should I do to keep this truck rolling far into the future? There are many valve and sensor type things that I am not familiar with. I really appreciate and replies in advance. I love this sight because of your collective experience. - Martin

PS - Texas Man I hope we make it to 500k!

I have an 88 f150 reg cab long box 4x4,4.9-6 cyl.5 speed 3.08 gears, with 210,000 mi. Hauled a bobcat on a trailer all last year. Also hauled as much as 4200 lbs.of crushed limestone in the box.Replaced the clutch at 187,000 mi.Engine, trans, transfer case,&rear end are all original, and never been rebuilt! This thing is a real work horse. By the way,the guy that owned the bobcat and trailer paid me to haul them cause he blew his tranny, and rear end out in one months tine, trying to haul them with his chevy. KEEP ON TRUCKIN!!!!

95 F150 with 302 and 5 speed has 208,000 miles original engine and trans. It has had 1 clutch, and the original belt broke two days ago

I tow about 3500 pounds with it 3-4 days a week. I have used Mobil 1 since about 50,000 miles.

136,482 here. I'm the second owner and according to the first, all is original. I use less than 1/2 qt. between changes every 3000mi. Does anybody know how long the 302 will last? According to some of the posts, 200K+ isn't unusual.

140k. Original motor. Not sure about the tranny. The tranny just lost 1st & 2nd gears so it may be replaced.

Thumbs up 1994 F150

1994 Ford F150 4X4 351 automatic
374,000 miles
original motor and tranny
doesn't burn any oil or tranny fluid
Looks and runs like it has 50,000 miles on it, only problem I've had so far is front wheel bearings

111,000 on a 1992 f-150 uses no fluids, runs better than the day it rolled off the line. Only parts that have been replaced are the balljoints and starter, all other parts that have been replaced were for performance enhancements, they still worked fine. BTW this is an old farm truck, 1st owner did a lot of towing, drove it through 10 buffalo winters, this thing has never seen a garage.

I am going to rebuild the engine and bore it .030 over at 500,000 miles.
