directly right in front of the brake fluid resivior there looks like there is a connection piece that looks like something should be connected with a wire or something and in pics of 302 v8s there is definately something there and on my truck there is just a female connection what is the wire connection that i am missing. the truck runs now with no problems the only thing is like i said in another post the engine light does come on after i drive it for 10 mins or so i was wondering if this could possibly due to that lack of a wire that i mentioned above
please advise

 

Can you post a picture of it? There are numerous empty connectors throughout the vehicle that can be used for testing purposes, or for options that weren't installed on that truck.

Right next to that, on the fender, by the hinge, there should be two empty connectors, one shaped like a house, and a single one. They are used to pull your codes from the ECM. That's what you need to do if you want to find out why the MIL is coming on. Anything else is just guessing, and wastes time and money.

Just in front of the master cylinder reservior mounted on the casting and pointing up is the cruise control deactivation switch for brake pressure. The connector will have two terminals in it.

ya thats it mine does not have anything connected to it its just a i believe a red thing with out a wire going to it

 

yep. its for the cruise control. There was a recall on em oh roughly August or September of 2005. The dealer unpluged mine and taped it off untill they could put a fused link or something in. I havent gone back in for it yet i almost forgot about it. Did you just get the truck? look around there to see if its taped off.

 

ya i just got the truck and it is not taped off so does this mean my cruise does not work?????

 

Try using your cruise!! If it doesnt work, then its your cruise!
