Question Looking at a '95 4x4 ... advice?

Hi,

I am new to this forum, as I have just recently started shopping for a truck. I need a 4x4, reg cab OK, basic, for working around the property (hauling dirt, dump runs, lumber, whatnot).

So I found one locally here (California) that's a '95 reg cab 4x4 with a long bed,, 4.9L I6, 59K miles. I figure I can get it for around $4.5K.

So I'm wondering:

Are there particular issues with this year and type of truck that I should be on the lookout for? I'm going to get a pre-buy done tomorrow.

It seems to me that the price is a deal for the year & miles. The truck's a bit dinged up (it's definitely been a working truck), but I'm not in it for the looks. Does this sounds like a fair/good/great deal?

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Marty

I'm new to this site too. The only thing I can tell ya is that I just purchased my first ford. 1995 f150 ext cab, 4x4 with 26k miles for a little over 10k. So the prices are pretty close. I'm also in Fl dont know if that makes a difference. I love mine!!

the 4.9 is a great engine all the torque that you will need for what you will be doing with it. my dad finally had to get rid of his 89 f-150 with a 4.9 after 260k good trucks

I bought a similar truck 94/100km/loaded -4x4 for 7200--can. Thought it was a pretty good deal and you know what...after owning it for a few months it really was a good deal.

Thanks
