Love it. Didn't like the wrap around grips it comes with but easy fix. Been dead nuts reliable and it conceals easy. Nice and thin. It replaces my G27 that burned up when my old Mercedes Diesel caught fire and burned up. It was in the glove box because I had to disarm at work (At a University that state forbids carry). Love the Colt. Good gun right out of the box. Didn't even have to adjust the extractor either.

What was left of the Glock...

It went through a spooky transition. The whole thing made the hair stand up on the back of your neck. I think I posted the whole story here a year or so back.

Best theory is that the Climate Control received feedback from a burned up auxiliary coolant pump and it overheated and caught wires passing above it on fire, up under the interior of the dash. There is an amazing amount of fuel inside a car. Plastics and foams etc. All of the interior is pretty flammable. Once it goes... it goes.

When it started... yes. Thats where I pulled over. And where it transitioned from smoke coming out the vents to a flicker of flame to quick spread and full engulf....

Here is the whole original thread story on it.

Well... it was going on 30 years old. And the Diesel never blew really. Had it been gas I imagine it would have been even more spectacular. Far as I know its the first one ever to catch fire from that issue. Mostly it just overheats and takes out the Climate control. Even then its pretty rare but.. and again... it all conjecture. No way to be 100% certain.

Man that looked like a very nice car that was well cared for - sucks to go up in flames. Did all of the ammo discharge?

EDIT: Just read the other thread and answered my question. It sucks that you lost something you put so much time into. Did insurance cover it?

If you still have that Glock slide, it could be rebuilt. If you wanted to.

I agree that could be rebuilt and it would be a good candidate to be machined for a red dot site.
