shearing forces are more amazing than you want to realize... dont count on them staying together without proper torque.

thinking about nabbing a 10.5, slammin it in the rear, and adapting the front until i decide what to do. or I may just run the rubber off his KM2 37's using the axles i have now with the 4.88s.

my brother chucked fresh 37's off the family diesel lol

haha its not too bad. just a little bit. but you have to take the calipers off inorder to grind on them. other than that its fairly easy. haha

well i got a couple questions for you guys. So i have heard that i need to put atleast 10" of lift on the front suspension in order to clear that front crossmember with the solid axle. so first off, is this true?

my next question is what should i do? lol i am stuck on the fence whether i want to go that high or not. first off, i am afraid it will make my tires look too small...what do yall think it would look like with 13" of lift and 38" tires? my other concern is the actual height of the truck. the higher it goes, the less stable it is with a higher center of gravity.

my other option would be to cut out that cross member and weld in a new one...how reasonable is that to do? if i do that, then i will be able to keep the truck at the same height. BUT i am afraid i will rub the fenders because even right now i am rubbing the fenders. I would really like to get it set up to the point where i dont rub at all.

so yea just let me know what yall think...i like bigger trucks but i just really dont want to increase my risk of a roll over. so please put in your input on my delima. haha

Farmboy Fab recommends 6.5" of total lift BARE minimum.

8" was the rumored # to clear without modifications

Even if so, a little welder and a couple notches, you can make clearance :P

remember if you cut that crossmember out you need to weld a new one in first then cut that one out.

but you should be fine with 8" of lift
