Question tailgate emblem removal

Does anyone know the easiest way to remove the tailgate emblem? I believe it is secured with 3M tape, but I may be wrong. Is the fishline method (with pre-heating the emblem with heat gun or hair dryer) the easiest way to do it without doing damage? Thanks for any help.

Are there holes behind the tail-gate badge like on the fenders?

I'll just have to wait for the weekend to clean the truck, take the old one off, and install my new black F-150 emblem in it's place.

Question

Harley; 3 questions. Did you get your emblems from Ebay? Did you use the 7" emblem on the front? Also, is the antenna for your c.b. from Radio Shack? I saw these a couple of years ago, and am curious how well they work. Thanks.

Are these the black F-150 emblems or the black Ford emblems? I'm interested in black f-150 emblems to strip the chrome off the truck.

Thanks,

Mitch

These are the Ford emblems. Thanks, Harley. This is where I got them, too. I have one that has to be replaced, though. There is some chrome cracking on the inside lip of the emblem. Just waitin' for Scott to get back to me for replacement.

I took mine off with the advice of some of the people on this board. Here is a link to the thread. Fishing line is the way to go.
