My spare tire was stolen awhile ago and they cut the cable holding it up. I discovered this when I was getting new rims put on my truck. Just ruined the whole day. I've bought a new tire and got it mounted on one of the old rims. But haven't gotten the holder yet. I was wondering what the best course of action would be to repair this problem. Like if I can get a new cable or should I get the whole assembly? Sorry so long and thanks in advance.

 

pretty sure you would have to get the entire assembly. When I looked at mine, I don't see how you would detach the cable from the spool. Probably start looking at some junk yards to see if they have one. Or order from Ford.........
