Yep, both doors, small cracks ! 97 F150 4x4, SC, SB.

 

1999 with door cracks.

 

2002 scab, no cracks. Bought used so anything is possible!!

 

When I had a 98 XLT it developed a crack on the drivers side door. It was right below the lower rear corner of the window.

 

thats where mine is.

 

Mine too. Drivers side. I'm the orginal owner. Will Ford fix? I never got a recall but the Ford body shop said they use to fix these for free?

 

Me too... ford replaced door for $150 on what they called a "good faith" warranty... took 3 different dealers before I got that though.

(note, it was under my extended warranty, which I dont think normally covers body defects)

 

Do the F250s count? If so if it happened it probably got repaired by the pevious owner

i dont have that body style,..but my mom does and of course it is cracked, they all do it, i cant tell you how many i have fixed. ford has a "repair kit" as they call it but it only moves the inevitable crack up couple inches and takes longer to show. the only thing i have ever heard of working was to weld the crack up and weld a thick piece of metal behind it with plug welds, but i havent seen a truck that i have done that to so i honestly dont know how well that worked but if you got your truck fixed at ceiner-woods ford lemme know!

 

My 1999 super cab never had this problem on the drivers side door. I took good care of it.

I thought I read on here somewhere that Ford found out the cracks occurred above 80mph with the windows up, so now whenever I drive above 80, I roll down the windows first to keep their pressure off the door.

 

heres my crack driver door 2000 lightning, asked the dealer about it after i noticed it (6 months after i bought it) they said there was nothing they could do for me
