Dave, even supposed loved ones will keep things from you but, here we tell the truth to show how much we care.
In that spirit, we have to also inform you that your hairline is receding.

Raoul,

I wish that was the case, since I am bald! I can feel the love in the air.

97 F150 with door cracks on both sides. I touch it up every year, just never seems to do the trick.

We are all alone in this crack....

It has been almost 5 YEARS since this post was started and I don't see Ford helping us. Needless to say I, like many of us, am very disappointed. Dealerships in my local area say Ford will not honor this under a manufacturers defect warranty. As long as customers pay half the repair cost, there will be an implied acknowledgement that it is not a defect by Ford. I'll just keep filling the crack with epoxy and painting it.

After reading this thread, checked my 97 out and sure enough, cracks on both sides. Although they are hard to spot and minor, will these cracks grow over time and become worse?

Is their any sort of method I can use to stop it from cracking and rusting without replacing the whole door>?

Take it to a bodyshop and have them strip that section of the door, bondo or lead it shut again, and then repaint the section; but there's no guarantee that the cracks won't come back because of the reason that they're there in the first place (when you roll the windows all the way up to the stops it stresses the metal)

My 97 Xcab has like a 3/8" crack on each door, but I just don't worry about it because if that's all I have to worry about I'm still coming out ahead.

Well wouldn't you know it but I have develpoed the dreded door crack. 56,000 miles and only on the drivers door for now. I will be at the dealership on the 19th to see about the cruise control fix and will ask about the fix for the door.

98 extended cab no body cracks

However from time to time I hear a loud knock coming from the passanger side. Visual inspection turns up nothing. Might be suspension related???
