Ford/Visteon CD6 - Correct Part # ???
Am looking for the correct part number (or numbers?) for this unit that would allow me to do a simple 'plug-n-play' replacement with the stock AM/FM/tape/CD-changer controller in my 2000 Lightning.
[Correct part number used is: 1C3F-18C815-AB]
Thank you!

Best of luck . . .

Yes, the proper CD6 will fit and work with a little bit of plastic trimming inside the dash. This was confirmed by my local Ford 'authorized' electronics installer, "Bill" at radiosandmore.com, and from reading the previous posts here. I'm just not quite sure of the proper part number, so I'm going out on a limb here.
But if everything works as planned, I'll post some install pics within the week. Wish me luck! =)

Yeppers, again given the correct CD6 installed, pressing the CD button will switch between its internal changer and the factory changer. (Verified by previous posts on this board.)
Incidently, I'm really wanting the CD6 so I can still keep the changer capability once I the external changer with something like this:

No real word on when or if it'll really be released, but I'm still hoping.

Yes, it works with the factory CD changer as well. By pressing the CD button, I can alternately play from the internal magazine or the factory-installed CD changer. The only thing with the factory changer is that you can't just press the number 6 and have it play CD #6 in the factory changer (like you can with the internal magazine).

HEY, WHOOOAAAA!!!!!!!! I've been looking for something like this!!!!!
I've been told this unit DOES NOT fit my 2002 SuperCrew? Is this true, if so WHY NOT? Looks same size? Too deep?
OR, do they just mean it won't fit normally, and I need to "cut some plastic" as you guys are talking about?
Lastly, anyone know how much power it has?
THANKS!!!! HELP!!! I'm desperate!!!!!

If your truck is a 2002 F-150, it probably is just the "cutting plastic" part.
Attatched is an 'after' photo of the hole I needed to cut out. The red line is where I cut with a Dremel tool.
The best advice I can give is for you to pull out your stock radio and look behind it with this photo as a reference. You'll quickly understand what I'm talking about.
