Twinscrewd you said it above i just didn't see it. You really have to drill and tap that nice new $50 adaptor huh.

I think the sensor is 3/8 npt right? Man that doesn't seem like it would leave a lot metal left over after drilling and tapping. Have you done it yet?

Thinking of just using a 3/8 npt to 1/4 npt adaptor.

No the adapter is already cast to accept it. Here's a pic. If you don't purchase this then you will need to drill and tap into the cooling system, and quite honestly I just didn't see a good spot to do it. The adapter below was $45 and I got it here http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...e&apwidE9tNLx7

FLEXALITE IN-LINE HOSE ADAPTER -- Fits 1-3/4 in. ID radiator hose; Features 2-1/4 NPT threaded ports plus a 1/4 in. brass plug; Provides a threaded fitting for screw-in temp sensor;

Do you already have your adaptor? The adaptor is 1/4 npt and the sensor that came with my painless controler is 3/8 npt.

Did painless ship me the wrong sending unit?

I have flex-a-lite part# 32084
I have the F5 Controller part# 30140

I called painless and asked about size and was told 3/8's.

???? Humm ????

Take the temp sender with you to validate the 3/8th size. Lowes trip was my plan for thurs as well.

Awesome!! Great find. Lowe's was a bust. Would have to piece an adapter together. The part you found may be avaliable at advance or autozone

The autometer hose adapter uses a 3/8" NPT thread, but it is for a 1-1/2 hose. I would be afraid it would leak on our 1-3/4" radiator hose.

I would not reccomend the 1.5 inch on the 1.75 hose. Get the Flexlite part listed above so you won't have to worry.

I'm not gonna use the 1.5" adapter. I want to actually see if the FAL piece has enough meat on it to open up the hole to a 3/8 NPT thread so I can use my spal temp sensor on it. I think I'll take a drive down to summit racing and have a look at it.

I'm jealous!! I wish I lived near Summit. I'd be broke as hell lol. I actually cancelled my order for the Flexlite adapter with www.autopartswarehouse.com. Ticked off with them. Ordered the part Monday and it's still in process. So I called this morning and all they could say is that is was being processed and they would email me tracking when it shipped. I told them if I had ordered it from Summit or Jegs on Monday it would have been to my house yesterday. They advertised 24-48hrs to ship out. It's been a week. So I cancelled and placed my order with Summit and included the sunpro adapter from above in my order. Should see it Tuesday.
My QA1 dual adjustable shocks arrived for the front, rears already done, got a crank pulley to bring boost to 12psi. Taking my new set up racing next weekend! Weather permitting...

Well, I'm not that close, google maps says I'm 54 miles away. I actually live closer to Summit Motorsports Park (used to be Norwalk Raceway) than to the actual store. The summit store up here in OH is the original, has been here for over 30 years, I remember their ads in Hot Rod magizine back in the late seventies. Jegs has been around a long time too, and they are just down in Columbus, about 2 hours away.

Bad news. I got the adaptor part from summit. It is 3/8 "flare" to 1/4 npt. Looks like the adaptor part search continues. Summit should have made that more clear IMO.
