Brighter Reverse lights

I have a 06' SCREW and the reverse lights seem to be really dim. Is there after market reverse bulbs I can buy or should I go with the LED tail lights or something else.
Of coarse I'd like to spend as little as possible on something so small but will go with all new lights if that's my only option...
Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I purchased a set of halogen replacement lights from JCWhitney and they are brighter than stock. They are an exact replacement, style #3156 and made by DesignTech. The instructions say Not to leave the lights on for a long time. I guess it will heat up the lense too much? I haven't had any problems yet. I installed them over a year ago. I also added aftermarket reverse lights on it's own circuit. If I need to light up the rear, I can turn them on without the truck being in reverse.

That's pretty sweet. Add a lot of light when backing up or just a little. More for safety and looks...?

From what I've read, it adds a lot of light when backing up.

i have the putco 3156 LED reverse lights and they look exactly like the DTS reverse lights... which are basically HID's for reverse lights. i would highly suggest them. if i was home, id take some pictures for you. About $50 for the pair, so they are a little steep.

$50 is a bit steep but if they do a damn good job of it I can handle that. What "
"DTS" lights?

Hey BrainDonor, great link...I've been considering adding one of the rear light bars to my truck to make it more visible...but didn't realize they would be white in reverse and red with runniing and brake lights - very cool. Did you order the 60" or smaller one? Also, I'm a "less is more" kinda car nut and don't want the rear of my truck looking like I won a shopping spree at Pep Boys....do they mount fairly stealth?

Please post results and pics when you get yours - very interested!!

To the OP, I had the 6 LED style reverse bulbs in my '05 and they were awful...worse than the stock bulbs. They looked sort of cool - but emitted even less light than the stock bulbs. I paid approx. $25.00 for the pair - so whatch out for the cheap stuff...you get what you pay for!

I ordered the 60". DeereGeff added one to his 09 Plat. Also, there's the issue of the little hump on the right side of the rear of the truck...but I plan to follow what the poster here did: https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...r-install.html
