My rear diff was changed liked 2 years ago, but i had treadquarters do it while it was in the shop for an alignment. Im approaching 100,000 miles and i want to change the spark plugs and swap out some fluids, but ive heard some horror stories about people getting their plugs stuck or stripped out, so im a little weary about doing them.

Have you swapped the transmission fluid and filter? Is it pretty simple....I did it on my old 86 cheve celebrity, but never on my truck...

I swapped transmissions at 107k

I've swapped the filter on an 05 F-250, not too terribly difficult, just lots of bolts to remove and the trans drips fluid everywhere. I have 123k and some change on the truck now so the fluid and filter in the transmission ought to be good.

Labor Day Weekend

So how was it? I have family in from Texas and Ohio and having a blast. It also helps that I am off this week . My brothers are big into video games, there playing call of duty 4 right now, so I figured I would see what was going on around here.

Worked at the Lodge a little bit, did some homework, and went to Williamsburg with the family.

Good luck and God bless everyone Friday and this weekend Has anyone started prepairing for it yet? I always have plenty of supplies on hand and just finished cleaning my garage up so that I can fit one of my trucks in it. My Brother is supposed to fly back to Texas and my Wife is supposed to fly to Detroit and back on Saturday

Need to bring the generator up to the garage and get some fresh gas for it. Otherwise we plan on riding the storm out. Hope everyone comes out unscathed.

Not too bad really. I did find out that my $10,000 new windows are not water proof though.

Turns out one was installed incorrectly, I'm hoping it will be an easy fix for the contractor though. I'd do, but they warrantied the labor and it's their dang fault.

Speaking of windows

Last Thursday my Son borrowed my 89 to move some stuff. I get a call from him and he says Dad, then a long pause so I instantly know something is wrong with the truck. He shattered the drivers side window . He said that he was trying to pull it up, and he still doesn't have an answer as to why he was "pulling" it up . So anyway I've been going to the junkyards today looking for a window. I did replace the windshield wiper motor though. I've had the new motor for about 5 years now . And I did get my new exhaust put on the Lightning .

No, actually it was the U channel piece that goes on the top of the window. After the window is set it's slid up and into its final spot, and the flashing goes down to it. Well it slid down and left a gap that water was driven through by the wind. I called the company and they sent a guy out to fix it under a warranty repair. Some liquid nails and it was all set, but he also ran a bead of clear silicone on the outside to help it out. It's mo bettah now.
