Magnuson not standing behind there blower
Sounds like a bearing problem. If you had a vibration going from vacuum to boost, that is when then bearings would be "loaded". Probably had a bad bearing from the begining. It would take a fair amount of filings to foul the rotor pack. Might scar the case but not "weld" up the rotors. If the filings made it to the bearings that's a different story. Big bummer anyway you slice it.

When I get a bigger blower I will go for the works 140 whipple. Chis has been trying to get Magnuson to make things right for me. All Magnuson has done has sent him a bill to rebuild my unit.
Damn Don, I hate to hear of these problems with your blower. Iam not no expert, but it sure seems like an impact mark to me in the first pics. Why, I have no idea. Best of Luck to you in getting this problem resolved

this is bull****
Don, you've had trouble with that thing since the day you got it. I remember talking to you on the phone right after you put it on and you were telling me there was a problem going from vac to boost and you were telling me about the vibration. I find it hard to believe that JDM would do any damage to blower they were altering to go on a truck they just spent a ****load of time building up for a customer who was very patient. I believe the blower was defective, and like many manufactureres, they immediately blame modifications for the problem...sounds familiar don't it???
Metal shavings could come from a bad bearing race, or even if the rotors weren't balanced properly.......who knows. You'll probably never get them to take care of it, and this only makes them look bad. I'm wondering if that unit was specifically for this application? It never seemed to really fit correctly.
Don, I can remember you saying that you haven't heard any good things about Kenne Bell's customer service and you elected to go with the magnuson. I say Kenne Bell's customer support couldn't be much worse........i'd go with the Kenne Bell unit. I have the MM & FF that shows the dyno graphs and how much more effecient it is if you wanna check it out. It's your truck and your decision, i'm sure you'll do what's best for it. I just hate to see people get the shaft. Even if it was caused by your so called "altering", if it fit right in the first place and functioned properly, you wouldn't have had to screw with it. Keep us updated buddy.

There have also been a few other "skermishes" such as the traction device battle; the "fastest color" conflict; valve body vs. accumulator valve uprising and a few others with less historical significance.
