Who has the best 60' time on the stock F1s?

I'm kinda curious to see the best 60' time as well as the average most of us are able to pull outta the stock tires.

Oh yeah, it'd be cool if you posted your stock tires & stock suspension times too if you could.

Best so far for me - 2.36 .... I need to lower the rear pressures (that was running 30lbs) a bit more and practice a bit in this thing!

Jesus I suck!

I spun all the way through 1st gear too...wtf...

My fastest runs that night were nailing (no feathering)...was always about .2 faster that way then a controlled smooth launch.

So, how in the sam hell are you guys getting 1.7 and 1.8s on stock F1s? Crazy!

I gotta drop that psi to 25 or so I think next time...

I'm in AZ and the tracks aren't the best (I know, no excuses) but the best I can muster, trying every which way, is a low 2.0x with most of the runs in the 2.1x area. Usually around 20psi with about 7,000 miles on the tires. BADBOLT2 was hitting 1.9x and maybe got a 1.8x (can't remember) with Mickey ET Streets. Amazing other tracks show 1.7x with F1's!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT GET THE TIRES WET!!!
Go around the water box, Then heat the tires only a little. No huge burnout. Stage, and leave at 1200 rpm's. Write me back with the results!!

slightly O.T.

This reminds me of running my 95GT 5/speed in Tenn one night (411 dragway). This track is so bad it litterally has chuncks of rubber missing at the launch area. (5"x5" or so) Almost like shallow pot holes.

This guy in a 96 cobra w/slicks was lifting the left front and only cutting 2.0s. My 95GT has 235-55-16" wal-mart goodyears and so we run each other and I cut a 2.0 right next to him! Talk about "eyeswideopen"

It's all in getting to know your vehicle and the particular track your running.

Can't wait to try out the lightning!

The best I've mustered is 2.01, but that's much improvement over the 2.2 and 2.3 I was getting before!

I always avoid the water - wish I could say that was the problem!

So here's a question - I've tried launching from idle (best time so far but still crappy 60') and from 1100. I may be getting ahead of myself when I launch from 1100 though - I tend to feather in very fast, spinning through first gear.

So is it ideal to chirp a little, spin a little, spin a lot when launching? My best time so far has been mashing from idle and spinning all the way to the 1-2 shift. Feathering in was about .1~.2 slower every time.

Also, running 31lbs in the rears which is way too much I know. How much of a reduction can I see by lowering that to 22ish lbs? Anyone have a suggestion on what to air them down to?

You're preloading the suspension and this is why you're spinning. Plus you're not flashing your converter properly for the best possible performance out of your vehicle. Our stock converter does not perform well when it's "torqued up" persay.

First off, read this thread. It has some great info. in it to help you get a good launch!

Launch from dead idle and slam the throttle to the floor. You will transfer weight better and you'll haul *** on a good track. You will most likely chirp the tires coming out (if you have enough power).

Anyone have a suggestion on what to air them down to?
Lower it to 27, then try 25, then 22. Do not go to low as you will cup your tires and you'll lose more surface area when launching.

Hope this helps
