Hey speedin',
I know this fordtek guy too!!!!!
I went to my dealership and asked about the intercooler replacement and this guy said, "What is an intercooler??".
My truck has been to the dealership twice. Once for the first oil change, and the second time for the wiper motor recall, which took them six hours!!!
Now there is only one mechanic who works on my truck and that is Shaun@JDM. Yeah, I drive 4 hours for simple repairs. And I usually pick up a new mod too!!!!! Why, you may ask?? Well, I TOTALLY trust him and Jim working on my truck and I can be right there when they make my repair and explain it to me. That is what is important!!
F#$k those dealership dumbasses!!!!(except for you Chris, you seem pretty aware of customer concerns)

I would have been suspicious at the "first" test drive
Not once has ANY shop that gave my vehicle an alignment, taken it for a drive afterwards. Am I going to bad shops? It does make you wonder, doesn't it?,,,,98

It's very interesting to me how ALL the Ford tech's stick together on this. Have any of you actually aligned a Gen 2 Lightning? We are not talking about blueprinting an engine here guys. It's not rocket science and I even put the cam washers in. 3 hours to do an alignment? I thought you guys got paid by the job. Like I originally said I could live with the first test drive but when the tech brought my L back and then another tech jumped in it with the first tech no where around guess what he was doing? If some mechanics would show a little more pride in their jobs then people would not be so reluctant to take their vehicles in to be worked on. This Fortek guy is obviousily one of the guys I'm talking about.

AND just in case everyone's short term memory is not working well, the guys that did the alignment WERE NOT Ford Techs. but yeah, we stick together. I'm so amazed everyone can install cam washers. But when you bring your car in we don't jump up and yell yes'sir and pull your broken a$$ed trucks in. We have other work to do too. So alot of that wait time is the time it takes us to get the truck in.
And anyone that drives 400 miles to get their truck worked on is f**kin stupid. Just my opinion. Let JDM warranty that truck when it's in your backyard collecting leaves cuz ford hangs you out to dry.

I gotta say, I think your overreacting too. It sounds like they just wanted to get a second opinion on the alignment which sounds reasonable to me. If they had peeled out or something I'd be a little concerned.
now what pissed me off was when I took my lifted highly modified explorer in for an alignment to alignment masters, the test driver found it necessary to test out the vehicles four-wheeling abilities without my permission by driving over the cement barricade in the parking spot, through the rocks, down the curb and off the sidewalk to get to the main road. Then upon coming back he proceeded to "jump" a speed bump (i.e. see how fast he could go with the explorer on it and have it still handle it) and once again drive over the sidewalk, the curb, the rocks, and the cement barricade to pull it back into the garage. Needless to say I got a free alignment out of that.

Sunday, my left front tire goes flat, showing cord an inch wide on the inside edge. Monday it goes in. Weds they work on it. They say I must have hit something. It is out 3 degrees. I buy the tire. $331.oo I pay for an alignment @$70.00 also got an oil change etc. 41,000 miles.. They mounted the tires and the cam bolts and aligned it 10k ago. by the time i get home (10 miles) it is pulling to the left. Let go the wheel and it will change lanes. Thursday it is back in the shop.. Oh dear! Lightnings must need more torque. the bolts were loose and it went out of alignment. Sounds like what just happened on Sunday to shred the tire,, oh no THAt was because you hit something. AND ON THURSDAY, THE TECH AND HIS LEAD AND THE SERVICE MANAGER ALL TEST DROVE IT CAUSE THE SERVICE MANAGER DID NOT WANT TO SEE ME AGAIN WITH IT PULLING TO THE LEFT!!!! 4 days in the shop and a new tire and 2 alignments later. IT is fine again. and yes I will go there again.
Well, Fordtek, you may be right about Ford hanging me out to dry, kinda like what they have done for 50% of the "Ford Flagship Vehicle" owners.
From day one I have babied this truck and it will have to be a cold day in HELL before I let some high school dropout who got promoted from washing lot cars to "SVT TECH"!!! Sorry, but I guess it is what I will do for reliable service.
When I got the wiper recall done it took them SIX f$@king hours to change a wiper motor housing cover!!!
I got pissed because they knew I was waiting for the truck and they just took their sweet a$$ time.
Oh, and another thing......if I would happen to blow a cylinder head, I would do it myself......I would rather break my truck than a tech saying it was my MODS that blew up my head. Which we all know is bull*****....Ford has 3-4 threads holding those spark plugs in, so what crack smokin' tree huggin' hippy idea was that.....Hmmmm.....Probably a ENGINEER!!!!
So, I think before you start criticizing us for what we do to our trucks , you should look at the BRILLIANT f@$king problems these trucks already have and try to fix them instead of saying it was a modification issue.
I finally got my I/C recall notice......About DAMN time!!!! Even though Ford knew about the problem long before they issued a recall. Oh, and the lower control arm clunk too!!! A friend of mine went to Ford about this prblem and they replaced the lower control arm......Uhhhhhh, what the hell is that going to fix....NOTHING!!! If only Ford would fix the casting problem they have with the LCA, will the problem be resolved.

They probably took six hours because you are an annoying *****!
I'd like to watch you pull your cab off with a chain hanging from the tree in your backyard. The chances of you replacing your own cylinder head are about as good as the chances of you getting a knobber tonight. It just ain't gonna happen!
As for the lower control arm, if you know so much you should know it is stamped steel not cast. Probably another high school drop out, like us, designed that one too.
And one more thing about your sig, if black is statistically the fastest color, how come you can't break a 12.90?
I don't seem to have the problems some of you guys have. i bring along a couple of cases of beer for the guys in the shop, and tell them to please take care of "Wonderboy", and all is good with the svt moron/ "Goober" relationship. this tactic seems to work especially well with the hated "warrenty work"

The comment had nothing to do with testosterone, no matter how high of levels you may ingest. The prefered drug is adrenaline. The comment came about with your slam of SVT products. When frustrated at ones inability to posess a coveted item they will sometimes resort to slamming it as if to make it appear as though they never wanted it to begin with.
I think a few people here have forgotten that I took my L to a non Ford dealership.
I have both good and bad repairs at Ford. It's obvious that some mechanics are better than others. Hopefully most of the bad ones will be weeded out. Also can any of you Ford techs tell me how many customers come in that let you work on their car and NOT have a warranty? I think the non warranty claims are low. Why is that? In fact I think if it was not for warranty work MOST of the Ford techs would be out of work. So with that in mind you should hope that Ford keeps F*c*ing up on building their vehicles....call it job security...
