Talking Aug.'01 Muscle Mustangs issue !!!

Buy it now !!!! It has the JDM Engineering event coverage from this past March featuring Lightning Bob, Rick from Amozon Racing, Spiro and even yours truly. Thank you VERY much to Jim D'Amore for giving us this opportunity. It was a great event and too see it in a huge *** magazine like MM & FF is icing on the cake.

I think that this issue has the most L coverage of any one magazine that I have seen. It's a must buy!

Haven't recieved my copy yet...but I look forward to it. Lets not forget Mr. Dave Mcshane and his SVTPERFORMANCE/JDM site as well, GREAT JOB.
It will be interesting to see the article, and see just how they covered it. I know that I was not allowed to park up front mainly because it was a JDM event...and thats cool with me, its understandable. When you put out the money, you should get what you want.....RIGHT?
But I found it very strange that I was told by someone from the magazine " You cant be in the front line for a photo even though you ran the fastest with a white hood" LOL...OK....

So tell me Rob...what times did they list for everyone?? any PICS of my truck??

Zorprime,
Maybe you could make the next one....or the one after that

I can't wait to see this issue, one question any picture of the only lowered gen2 in the article? I guess everyone will be wanting to see their own truck in this issue and I am no different. I had a great time at this event and met a lot of good people. Thanks again for making this happen.

Spiro, they got your mug _and_ a pic of your truck in there. You had the highest trap speed of any truck from what they reported.

Spirro- Before you take any shots at Jim or MM&FF maybe you should get a copy of the magazine first. You might actually be surprised on what you'll see!

Brian, Spiro is bitter about this subject, but not because or towards Jim. That day at the event, we did a huge group shot, and the 5 fastest trucks were supposed to be in the front. MM&FF held Spiro back and put him way back in the shot, and when he asked why, he was told by Evan Smith "because of the white hood". Yeah ok. How many "white hood" Stangs have been featured in MM&FF? It's the polotics that takes the fun out of some of this stuff.

"JDM event and PSP has the fastest trucks!!! Hmmmmm - Pretty embarrasing!!"

It may look that way for those who were not there, but both JDM and PSP had good stuff there. Lightning Bob, Rob G and Dave McShane, all had their trucks at JDM weeks before getting tuned and lots of goodies. They made a great showing that day, all there running in the 12.5-12.6 range. Rick from Amazon stole the show with his JDM tuned truck that made some low 12 passes, with I think a 12.36 being his best.

From the PSP camp, not to many trucks there, for obvious reasons. But Spiro and Chris D. both went 12.7s on street programs, only a tenth or two slower than the JDM trucks, and with out converters, 90mm MAFs, and long, icy cool downs like the JDM trucks were doing. On the nitrous, Spiro went a best of 12.32 and Chris went a best of 12.31, on early PSP nitrous programs. My truck was going 12.7s and 12.8s, running down a cylinder from that bad number 5 hole.

All in all, I think both the PSP and JDM trucks showed thier stuff that day. Even with all the tension, most had a great time.

BTW, JL was not there because if his then recent falling out with JDM.

The article isn't 20+ pages guys. The group shot itself covers the first 2 pages but only about 7 of the 40 trucks are visible. The people that are featured are the 5 fastest that made more than ONE pass. From 1st to 5th are... Rick, Spiro,Dave, myself and Bob. There is a picture of the driver a picture of the truck and a small caption of the mods and times. I would certainly have liked to see more pictures and more coverage but what the hell,it's nice to be in a magazine. To D_Coburn, this wasn't a tuner grudge race set up by Jim. This was a FREE EVENT FOR ALL LIGHTNING OWNERS !!!! How many people have done that for us ???? Just for your information NONE of the JDM tuned Lightning's were running nitrous that day and we were within 2-3 tenths of the nitrous guys. Is that bad ????

Rob, after all the work it took getting every truck just right, the picture takes up two pages and only shows 7 trucks?
