ok hate me for being a rich kid--in 1957 my parents bought me a 1957 bel aire chevy conv--it was fuel injected (only 600 made) in 12 months being a stupid dumb kid--i had gone through 7 trans-3 set of brake bands-3 sets of tires(1st tire==threw tread on 120 mph plus trip st louis to springfield Ill with only 3000 miles on tire)(no speed limit then and at 4:00am in morning)and finally a complete overhaul of engine at 11038 miles. god was i dumb== wish i had that old baby back===by the way everything was covered by warranty back then. that old 283 engine was a great engine back then.

98Screamer,

No, that's not me. That is the album cover from Molly Hatchet's first album and I've always thought that it was very representative of my outlook and personality. Me, THE Wyldman riding my Black Beast! Red eyes and snortin' nitrous (exhaling), a wicked combo.

BTW: I like your choice of Bass, I have a black/maple one just like the one in your sig.

66 impala 283 v8 auto w/8 track, and only 85K miles,a real creampuff. paid $600.00 in quarters from my bagboy job. Man, was i glad to unload those pockets. the cashiers (all female back then) used to call me a reverse Tom Jones with my 2 side bulges. i thought that they were just jealous of my uncanny ability to "land the tip", but later learned that they were just filthy ho's, with their minds in the gutter

Cool

Wyldman,
I had a couple of Molly Hatchet albums(yes albums, lol) back then. You just don't see that cover anywhere,so I was just wondering. Not many middle school teachers can afford an L,huh?,,,,98

My first car was a 76 Fiat X 19. California Orange (read school bus yellow) Chicks dug that car! Handled great, no power, plus Fiat really does stand for Fix It Again Tony. That car had an electrical system rivaled only by Lucas- Prince of Darkness for it's ability to repeatedly fail. A guy in a Early 70s Monte Carlo pulled in front of me on a two lane country road and it was totaled Then I got a fire engine red 70 1/2 z-28, what every 16 yr old needs man I wish I still had that Z.

Took my DL test at 16 in my dad's 1955 Chevrolet Nomad wagon. Turquoise over white; Beautious! When he first got it (new), he would have people stop him on the streets and ask him what it was! But the first vehicle I ever really owned and paid for was a 1959 Olds Dynamic 88 4 door sedan. 371 V8; trunk held lots of beer cases, but a real POS! Also had a 1959 Ford Galaxie 500 (coral pink interior-ISH!). But then I bought a 1962 Chev Impalla SS convertible and after that, a 1966 Dodge Charger (383; 4 spd). Then lots of "practical" vehicles for the family, but NEVER another 4 door sedan. Now that the kids are raised and gone (mostly), I drive what I like and to hell with practicality. Lightning in 2003.

1997 grand prix GTP later on turned into a GTX. Black on Black leather with the chrome GTX wheels. I loved that car, first one I ever got some in. I had a massive system in that car, 6 twelve inch JL W6's with 2500 watts of juice.

Loved that car.
