I'm 30 and this is actually my first truck, though I've wanted one for awhile. When I decided that I finially made enough to buy a vehicle that wasn't totally practical, I new it was going to be a truck, and when I heard SVT was going to make the Lightning's again, I knew it had to be one of those. It was the one vehicle that had all the attributes I was looking for.

Another pertinent question (at least to me):

How many of you paid cash for your Lightning vs Financed it?

Hello Guys Im 21 and i don't know jack squat about racing so there will be a lot of learning going on at my end. And hopefully I will even be able to help some of you as I go along. I was talking with someone today about setting up a 5 gallon tank on the bed to run 112 racing fuel and that way it can be used specifically for the 1/4 well I will surely find out more about this.

Paid cash, a hurt present for me out of my wife's life insurance money. It's only money and after the bills are paid, you can' take it with you, might as well enjoy it while you can...

I'm 28 and on my forth truck. Waited on this since it was anounced in March of '98. Had to finance it though, sits along side of our '98 Continental-leased.

I'm 43 going on 25, decided to buy the truck after reading the Motor Trend article in December, went to the dealer the next day, cost was not an issue. Almost bought a 95 but opted for a four wheeler F-150 instead. The Lightning was added to our stable May 12th, along side four Mustangs(2-70's w/351's, a 88 GT, and a 93 5.0 LX), a 93 Bronco, the 95 F-150 4wd, and a six speed(gulp) 93 Anniversary Edition Corvette roadster(the wife had to have it). Left my money in the market and opted for a low interest loan. I've always believed spirited rides keep you young.
