Cool Nosy Survey Topic

While reviewing the responses to my posts, as well as some of the other posts, I have reached the conclusion that Lightning owners are (a) very wealthy and (b) avid car/truck/boat/toy collectors. Hence, these informal question (and I hope this is ok):
1. What do you do for a living?
2. What vehicles do you own?

Just curious...

Well if you buy all 3 chips, trade your 4 month old Bolt for a new one, change exhaust at the drop of a hat etc. I agree with you.
I for one am not wealthy but the BOLT is well worth the $ 29,000 I paid.
A Chip and Filter is just about all I can budget for. I have fun anyway !
I have another toy, a VMAX Yamaha that was well worth the $8,000. A very good bike.
I do wish gas prices would come DOWN !

I am 26 and am a financial/accoutnant type. In addition to the bolt, my fiance has a Buick Regal GS which we use as a daily driver. (I talked her into it cause it had an Eaton!). I also have an 18' Gulf Coast with a 115 Yamaha. Not yet wealthy, but I am working on it!

Dan,

Look at my signature for my vehicles owned.
I am 40 years old and I am a restaurant owner.
My 00 black L is my only toy. I'm selling my 93 cobra because I really can't afford both toys. ( Unless I didn't have 2 kids.)
My wife drives a Sebring Convertible, so I have 4 vehicles right now, which is too many bucks for me. My mods will be a chip and airraid, due to limited funds...

Thumbs up

I'm a network admin/visual basic programmer, I am by no means wealthy, but I am doing fairly well. No wife or kids here, that seems to help alot!!!

I have the 99 Lightning

a 97 f-150 Extended cab dialy driver (just a v-6 beater)

5 computers

55 inch "top of the line when I bought it toshiba" tv/500watt home theather with all bose speakers, 2 10' subs

98 Yamaha Banshee ATV

a nice but not overly large 3 bedroom house

and just placing an order for a new 2001 raptor ATV from yamaha... <~ way cool new toy!!!

I must say I am a gizmo/gadget guy.. but I do manage to tuck away 10 to 20% of my income a year into 401ks and the market, you have to plan for the future, while being in debt up to your A$$!

Cool

My questions/comments weren't "aimed" at anyone in particular, just my observation that many people on this board seem to have lots of vehicles. More curiosity than anything else... Thanks for all the replies!

I am a photojournalist with the Newspaper in Tallahassee. Certainly not wealthy but you cannot put a price on pleasure and I get alot of pleasure out of owning my L. Sorta like my wife, I get alot of pleasure out of her and she costs far more than my L. I am sure you have heard the old saying that the only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys.

Cool

I am single which is easier to afford my toys such as a nissan 300zx twin turbo with 600 hp. Actually bought the L to tow Z to road races which I love to do when time affords itself.
I have a temporary job right now and I am pursuing my full time private franchising business, which is tied into the internet.

Informal Answers:
1) Part Time consultant to Industrial Process Control Company

2) 'OO Lightning
'90 BMW 750iL
'99 Kawasaki Ultra 150
'99 Yamaha 1200 LTD
'96 KX500

Not Counting Kids Mx'ers, trailers, etc.

PS: I used to be wealthy. My wife and her lawyer made sure I'm only 'comfortable' now

I must admit I loved seeing her face when I showed up in my new Lightning Tuesday (to drop off another support check). Guess she realized she actually missed some of my assets -- as I am sure she thought she took ALL of them

Define wealthy. (Webster's: wealth n. riches; abundance. - wealth'y) (Webster's: abundance n. great plenty)

Sort of sounds like a great plenty would mean I could go buy just about anything I need or want. Wouldn't say I am in that position as I lease every vehicle we have. I own a small distribution company here in Canada that has started to return as it should after 5 years in business. Sort of that risk / reward thing.

We have:

'00 Lightning
'00 Trans Am WS6
'99 Yukon Denali
'99 Cavalier
'99 Silverado Z71
'97 Camaro V6

37 with a beautiful wife, 3 year old son, 9 month old daughter, 1 cat, 1 dog, 2400 sq. ft home. You know, the million dollar family. About where I wanted to be a this time.

Try hard, set some high goals and try to achieve them, OR Aim low and avoid disappointment.

I'm Just Union Truck Jockey with overtime and six day weeks. My Wife is a big shot with the Post Office and makes more an hour than I do, but O.T. keeps as the main bread winner. Youngest Kid is almost 22 so I'm just going through my second childhood as my wife says. And I told her being the oldest of 13 I never got my first childhood.(to many kids to changes, chores to do and cooking to have any fun.) So I've worked hard for my toy.
