MRBBQMAN,

Actually, the Cavalier is for our....ah hmmm.... nanny to drive. She showed up in a rusted out K-Car and wanted to do trips with our kids. Not going to happen. My wife also uses it in the winter. I get to drive it in for oil changes. What a blast! (Actually they are great little cars, traction control, antilock brakes and Blizzaks, can't be beat)

The cat? I don't know why we own a cat. Oh yes I do. It makes my wife smile. I'm allergic to it.

36, Systems analyst for Internet Company, Nasdaq has been good to our stock which allowed me to buy the L. My wife has a 300m and I still have my 92 F150. The 92 only costs $50 a month for insurance. We have no kids so we can spend money on ourselves to counteract the stress from the Jobs. The Lightning does that well....

I wish I had the space for all the toys I see listed by others here... I am gonna try to find room for the lawn mower in the garage this weekend.

SVT-Snake,

Drop me a note at repeden@hotmail.com so we can chat.

I'm pretty much a lonely Gen2 "L" owner here in Indy. This board is my lifeblood.... Seen a couple on the road here, wasn't able to chat w/ them, just wave and smile. No luck meeting any at IRP.

Proud to say I'm a Captain in the Marine Corps with a very steady paycheck. No matter how much or little I work I still get the same amount and it's decent pay. My other car is a 93 Saturm which my wife drives. I got two kids that don't stop moving. Although I got a cool truck, I cruise around with my daughter blasting In Sync and Brittany Spears music( hope i spelled it write). The things you do for kids.

I am an engineering/technical supervisor at a communications company. I currently own a 2000 black bolt and a '73 Formula 455 (this is my "real" race vehicle-low 12s/high 11s in 1/4 mile). I just sold a black '94 bolt (14.485 @ 93.3 best time) with basic bolt ons and a '79 black Z-28. Also had '92 black Camaro RS (25th anniversary edition) with a 305/5-speed.
I miss the my '94 Lightning, but the '00 seems to be making up for it...:-)

I'm a wrencher, I've been wrenching since the early 1970s. I hate the work, but once in a while a performance car comes in and the job turns fun. I have had just about every hotrod made. I did a lot of rice racing so I know a lot about turbos. I built several 450 HP rice motors. I gave up after my rice racer got stolen.

My next fun job maybe to put a L motor into a 1971 (big engine bay) Mustang fastback. I'm real close.

No I'm not rich but I paid for every car/truck I've owned in cash and I paid for my new home with my retirement money. Its kind of nice not having any payments.

I have lots of education including a BS in engineering and a MBA but I never found working in white collar jobs fun. It's kind of fun when the "stupid looking grease monkey guy" working on your car has way more education than your whole family.

I got a wife that likes to race. She is also a knockout! No kidding, most guys never look at my ride at the races, they are always talking about that "girl" in the fast car. Of course now that she won't give my L back, it will be "did you see that babe in the RED L?" I think the only reason she married me is to have a fast ride and a mechanic at home....

I'm a senior computer geek (hosting engineer) at an internet company in New York (www.organic.com)...25 also.

My Lightning is quickly cleaning me out of money. Not enough for it, my computer addiction and my need for an awesome home theatre. Something is going to lose, so far it seems the computer is..heh heh.

Now if my damn stock options were worth more I'd be set..hrm..maybe 2 years. (NasDaq: OGNC)

Well, definitely not rich… To Bad…
I’m an Automotive Engineer, (I have a BSME, with Automotive specialty, focused on engine controls), I’m working in Chassis components, which is neat.
My Girlfriend (probably get married late next summer, this truck isn’t helping me save up for the rock very quick ) is finishing up her BSME, very soon to Graduate, is working as a Assistant Engineer, at an engine seal company.

I have:
1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT1 4dr
2000 Ford SVT F-150 Lightning
Girlfriend has a 99 Pontiac Sunfire (Lemon, trying to get it bought back, the day it get bought back she is going to buy a New Turbo Bug)

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it…

Thumbs up

Good question.

I am a full time student at Texas A&M who came into some money (Thank you Alan Greenspan) and was fortunate enough to be able to pay my truck in full upon delivery. I also own a 1991 Bronco with a 4" Superlift and 33" BFG MT's (along with other goodies) which I am currently trying to sell. Hopefully, my Industrial Distribution degree will land me a salary that allows me to live like some of y'all do.

I am 25. I am a self employed Used car dealer.I work out of my home and am by no means wealthy.I live comfortable.i actually sold my lightning for more than new so that might explain your first remark if it was by chance aimed towards me.If we had the money you are reffereing to.All lightnings you hear abnout on this board would be 12 second trucks with new wheels hoods bed covers and so on.The truth is most of us probally budget a little of money aside for fixing up our lightnings. If you notice,Most of us have one or two mods,But it seems like more because of all the people on here with different mods!.

Dan,

I am not wealthy but working on it. I look at my Lightning as by "Big Toy" and treat it with TLC (an occasional floggin doesn't hurt).

As far as a career, I am a computer Network Administrator. This is a relatively new career as I grew tired of beating my head against the wall, making no $$, and working when everyone else was playing (yes, I was a Hospitality Industry monkey)

My new career afforded me the fundage to purchase my "L".

As far as collecting car/boat/toy, I had a kawi 454 ltd 10 years ago (totalled due to no error of mine)and a 13 second 87 mustang (sold it to buy the "L"). Now the "L" is my only source of transpo but the Mrs. and I are looking at buying a used Benz for hre to drive.

p.s. Why would a court psychologist ask? seen to many L:ightning owners plead Temporary Insanity for traffic citations?
