Dan,
Actually not all of us are wealthy! I am in the military, at least for 3 more months and then I will be in the money, I am a Network Security Engineer. I have a 2000 Black Lightning, and a 2000 Honda Civic EX, I need something to offset the price of gas (35mpg on highway!)

Also, Speedin Bob I noticed you were a Network Administrator in Indy, I am planning on moving back soon, who do you work for?

Well, 60 years young, own the largest HobbyTown USA in the country and waiting for lease papers to triple that in size (converting a former 8 screen movie theatre into a HobbyTown!)
Not wealthy per se, but comfortable and owning my own company gives me some license when it comes to vehicles that I NEED for work.
I drive the Lightning, Pat drives a 98 Continental. We also own two '56 F100's, a 69 Chev BelAir 427/400 and a 69 C-10 Panel Truck.
Prior to the HobbyTown adventure, I spent 13 years with Volvo and 12 years with Saab in management positions, leaving Saab as a Vice President when GM purchased them. We lived in Sweden, Peru and Canada while with Volvo/
Have beend a fast car/truck owner since 1954.

Cool

Well I guess Iam in the minority here, as Iam unemployed. Not to bad as I have plenty of time to play with the L. When I work Iam a union pipefitter/weldor. My cars: 99 Black Lighting #1940 and a real cruiser, a 75 LTD.

I'm forty, and I'm very wealthy. I've got my health, a comfortable home, a sweet girl who puts up with me. I don't have loads of cash, but I have enough to buy most little thing I want. I manage to put about 20% away in stocks, and 401K's

I work at a company called Insight. We're a reseller of computer equipment. Again I don't rake in the cash, but other than that 80 foot yacht docked on that island in the Bahamas I want to buy... I've got it all!! It's all about being realistic, and happy.

2000 Silver Lightning, chipped
1992 White F-150 4X4
1999 WR400F, to many mods to list
1994 Diamondback, Axistt. (High end Titanium bike)

I am an elementary school teacher....soon to be principal. 31 years young and having a ball!

I also do some other work on the side. I have a studio in my home and I do a lot of commercials, jingles, etc for films, MuchMusic and documentaries. Keeps me busy. I also work with kids who have ADD and I hook electrodes up to their brain and check their brainwaves through neurofeedback. Neat stuff!

Getting married in Sept. so I am getting what I need for the truck this summer!

Love this board and the people on it. No comparison with what is out there!

I think you have the coolest job so far, Paul. anytime you can legally hook electrodes up to humans and drive a lightning to and from those sessions, someone is watching over you. can you turn up the voltage, as a correction, for unruly test subjects

New to the board (first post). This is an outstanding source for Lightning technical information and a lot of good goofs as well!

My wife and I are both 33-year-old engineers. She has an MS in electric power engineering and builds spare parts for nuclear power plants. I have an MS in chemical engineering and work in R&D for a big (huge) paper company. We have no kids and are, by and large, raking in the proverbial dough.

We have lived very frugally (cheaply) for the past 10 years or so and are now reaping the benefits of that (nice suburban home, entirely paid for, the cars...). I drove a thoroughly thrashed (151,000 miles) 1989 Chevy Beretta V6 until yesterday - traded it to a friend for a case of Woodchuck Amber hard cider and a Ford wristwatch. He got screwed. My wife drove a reasonably well-loved (138,000 miles) 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix SE until yesterday. It is now my commuter mule.

In the past 10 days we have bought a 2000 silver Lightning (250 miles) and a (matching) silver loaded Mercedes ML320 (50 miles). I feel a bit like an idiot having driven that heap of a Beretta around for all this time, but I suppose that's a big part of how we got to where we are today.

I also had a few motorcycles within recent memory, until a nasty 1983 Suzuki GS1100E pile-drove me into the pavement in Alabama an broke an assortment of my bones, including the left femur.

Looking forward to continued posting on this board and running into (not literally, of course) some of you other Lightning owners in the Cincinnati area.

I'm also proud to say that I'm in the Marine Corps, however I'm not a Captain like "Shorty".. I'm a Sergeant.. The old Sergeant doesn't make as much as the Captain!! (not even close), but I love my Corps, and somehow I too can afford one of these incredible beautiful beasts that turn heads everywhere we go.. Single, no kids, just my Lightning and myself and a couple mods here and there.. Sal, are you reading this???

I am 51 (kids are grown) and work as
a Technical Services Manager for an engineering company. I usually spend a lot of time in s*** hole places overseas, where I daydream about my next adventure in motormania.
I'm sure that I'd be wealthy if I hadn't spent so much money feeding this addition to motorized vehicles... So I still have to work for a living.
1. 99 Lightning, mildly tweaked.
2. 97 Mustang Cobra, still stock.
3. 97 BMW R1100RT
4. 93 Mustang Cobra, heavily modified (A4 block 347, Full Griggs setup, etc.), so I can run the open track events & play on the street.
I'd probably have more toys but I don't have the space and my wife might commit me to Charter if I got any more vehicles.
