Cool

Fordsales,

I stand corrected. I thought that seemed high but I read it in the HALO section on NLOC. They must have been a racing version. I've heard they are pretty high dollar. http://nloc.org/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000140.html

BTW, most people say the NGK's run as good as stock which isn't a compliment. Did you notice any better throttle response? With the splitfires it's very noticable but no one with the NGK's mentions this. That is what ibfast and I are curious about.

I did not notice any seat-of-the-pants difference between stock and the NGK's. I have heard too many stories about the Spitfires breaking. So, I didn't want to try them because that is why I was changing plugs in the first place. And that was to get away from the problem of stock plugs breaking.

I haven't heard anything about them breaking. I've only heard about them being the wrong heat range for a carbed engine and burning a hole in the pistons. That's why I was cautious. The stock plugs looked like they were burning uneven and too rich. The ceramic was a funny color like it was getting too hot.

Do you know of anybody that was running them in an L that broke? Mine are burning just like the textbook perfect plug. I see no indication that they might fail. I taken one out 5 different times to keep tabs especially after the R9 chip.

I'm just trying to make sure this isn't urban legend but fact.

TorqueMaster has issued a recall on Lightning plugs. Appears computer too sophisticated for current plug configuration. Additional research will yield a great plug. Stay tuned!

Jim,

Where did you get the NGK's so cheap? I should get some and return them to the place I bought the ones that are in my truck now. All I have to do is find that receipt.

I stopped by some little auto parts store and asked if they had the NGK TR 6 plugs. They look up the plug number, made a call somewhere and I was told that the plugs would be in the store in 20 minutes. At that moment, I didn't care what they were going to cost because I had looked for them everywhere and no one had them. While waiting for the plugs, I drove down to a McDonalds, had breafast, drove back to the store, the plugs had arrived and I was charged $14.17 for the set which included tax.

I then paid a mechanic $60.00 to put them in. I'm lazy and I have read how difficult plugs are to put in our L's.

I jumped over to take a look at the link you posted regarding the cost of the NGK plugs and Yes, some of the NGK's were purchased for $5.?? EACH, some were for $2.00, and I got mine for $1.69 each. They are all the same V-Power TR-6 plugs. Just be careful where you purchase them.

Cool

found out that i have a bad cat sensor and it will be replaced by dealer next week.i just hope it is not the sensor on the driver side front, which could mean leaking intercooler. i was not notified of a recall on the tm's and i was the guinea pig[first order] and just how are they going to adjust the plugs around the ford computer when everyone is running a chip.

I got my NGK's for $2 each + S&H from Internet Racer's Supply Inc.

I found the link on here, so just do a search for NGK plugs.
