regarding Spark Plugs
There is an enormous thread on the nloc board on this topic:

Let's see, $14.50 x 8 = $116 plus tax, for spark plugs, for cryin' out loud. Will you never cease coming up with these money sucking ideas, Jim? And will you have them in the truck at CSM?
hey all, 123.00 for 8,ups ground to michigan.the plugs are vtn8br star series.you may get yours faster,as they did not no what an L was when i called. later

Well, I have yet to try Torquemaster outside of my M3, but judging from the resulting performance of installing them over a year ago, I'll be sourcing some for my L pretty soon as well. They run beautifully in the BM and really keep it responsive under all conditions.

They stick them in Friday. The Saturday trip will give me a pretty good Idea how they run.
Damn, this L virus that I have has got to go. There doesn't seem to be a cure for it. Spend, spend, spend. The L costs more than a pretty blonde

I just talked to TMasters and they mentioned that you and a few others have placed their orders for the plugs.
I tried to get a discount because of the activity this has created for them. Sorry to say, no dice. But the owner will take me out to lunch Friday when I pick my set up.
So, I guess I can say to all of you that ordered, thanks for lunch.

I hate to rain on anyone's parade, and it is YOUR money, however if your vehicle is not missing, or has fouled plugs, no spark plug is going to make More HP.
Torquemaster may want to tread lightly or they may end up like SplitFire with the following: http://www.ftc.gov/os/1997/9705/c3737d%26o.htm
If the link above does not work go to www.ftc.gov and do a search on "SplitFire".
Basically they could not provide any scientific evidence that their plug could make more power, increase gas mileage, etc. etc. and were forced to cease and desist making any such claims.
I know of some mags "Super Ford" for one that tested SplitFire when they came out and reported gains with them, however the results are not "scientifically proven and repeatable." One car on one strip or one dyno doesn't cut it.
If the plug will produce a spark sufficent to start the combustion process, that is all that is required. Differences in legitimate plugs are geared to the life of the plug, not performance enhancements.
YMMV,
Rex

I'm personally not doing this for more HP. My concern is getting rid of the stock plugs because of the problems that people are having with them breaking in the chamber.
If I'm going to spend $7, $8, $9 for a good set of plugs, I might as well spend $14 and get a set that I know won't need to be replaced for 100,000+ miles and a set that I know won't foul.
That is why I'm doing this and if you are wrong and I pick up an extra horse or two, even better.

hey all tried the splitfires tonight at the track.is was 50 degrees,48 on the digital ford o meter.i can tell you split fires make the truck more responsive.and i can also tell you i am in the elusive 12s club.but without changing the plugs at the strip i can not say exactly how much the splitfires helped.only that the *** o meter says they do. i will try and get my tourqemasters in and try them friday night.new best is 12.968 106.09 60 ft 1.88 1/8th 8.312 later

Hey
I'm at TM right now getting plugs installed. As soon as I get back, I will post my thoughts.
