Post Killed a BRAND NEW R/T---->>>>

Low and behold guess what I ran up on today on the way home from work? It was on a section of freeway that was not very busy and I was in the inside lane. I'm doing the usuall speed limit plus 10 and pass a brand spankin new yellow Dodge R/T...no plates yet! As soon as I pass him he nails it and pulls up to the passenger door plus a car length. He was still in it when I dropped the hammer to hear the BADA$$ Eaton spool up. I crucified him bad and let off at 90. He stayed in it and TRIED to pull me once again..same results but this time we took it up to 125 and he just could not hang... By this time traffic was too bad to play so I just motored on and thought I bet that he wished he would have bought a Lightning...nothing like spankin' a car or truck for their first loss...lol

Jeff,
I hope you didn't open up a can of worms with this R/T kill. Next thing you know this board will be flooded with angry 16 year olds. BTW, can you make it out to Byron this Sunday ? Later.
Rob

Hey Jeff!

Good Kill! Especially the 125 run. Be aware tho, that 125 gets the RT's REALLY angry... they are limited to around 115 using the factory computer.....

Probably scared the pee outta him to hit that rev limiter!

Wow LightningDammitt I didn't realize that. That sucks to have a so called perfromance truck with a speed limiter set that low.. Heck my wife's Cavalier is good until 105 until its SL kicks in...He was topped out for sure...lol

Talking

I was cruising home this friday(actually sat morn around 4 am) and saw a black R/T merge onto the freeway behind me. I had two friends in the truck who suggested I slow down and let the dodge get closer.
I did, and I reeled him in slowly until we were door to door. He looked over and we were off. We were going about 60 when we started and by the time I let off at 140, he was a 1/4 mile or so behind me.
I let him catch up and he rolled down his window. He was a bit surprised and suggested we try again. Second time, same as the first.
When he catches up again he says that he has a speed limiter at 125 and wants to try from a stop. So, we stage up on the access road and nail it from a stop.
Dead again.
At this point, my friends are howling with laughter as he pulls up. First words out of his mouth are "I wanted a Lightning but I couldnt find one. Really, I would have bought a Lightning if they were available."

Feels GOOD to be one of the chosen...

Uh, Incon, they are talking about a Dakota R/T. For some reason the guys who buy them think they are fast trucks.

Thumbs up

Jeff,

So much for Hoosier Hospitality huh.....

Did you catch the date on his temp tag? I bet he at least attempts to take it back before it expires.

For all those whining, cannon fodder R/T and "Extreme" owners.. Heed this:

I'm ready to go to Sam's Club, buy a bulk package of Kleenex, keep a couple boxes behind the seat and toss a box in your bed around 110-115 mph so you don't have to mess your precious interiors with tears.

"BOO HOO HOOO Pooor little Dakota.....Is my precious R/T getting beat up by the Big BAAAAAAD Lightning. Hell yes, you friggin appetizer!

Sorry, gotta rant thing goin on today.

Cool

yeah, RobG was right about their ages, at least here in the Detroit area I always see young punks in those things. Nothing better than wiping the pavement with the attitudes that they always seem to have.

There, but for the grace of God, go I.

I almost bought a Dakota R/T last summer when I couldn't find a Lightning anywhere in the Detroit area.

Fate intervened, when a chance encounter with a new Lightning owner gave me a lead on my red beast, 160 miles from home.

Hallelujah! I wuz SAVED!
