The only RT I have been close enough to nail from a dead stop was all about it while he was looking at the truck... until the passenger looked over and saw me and said, Oh sh*t, that's a girl. Now y'all tell me...Was it that he thought he wasn't going to get a decent run out of me or did he think to himself...Damn I will look stupid to get beat by a bigass truck like that, but I will look even more stupid when I get beat by a girl...Either way I lit em up and I think he wet himself...

DO you all have to act like total a$$holes? I am not impressed with the Lightning. Raced one 2nd gen, took it all the way up to 40 before I slowed down and he passed me. I talked to him afterwards and boy was he disapointed in this truck. I expected more for a truck that costs 15,000+ more than I spent, and a supercharger and 100+ extra HP and torque. There are plenty of cool guys that own RTS. You guys sound like the PUNKS to me.

Also, I can assure you it wasn't a brand new RT was the last of the yellows were built 12/99 and promptly sold.

Cool

You're probably right. I'm sure it was a used one somebody traded in for a Lightning and then it got resold(hence the 30 day tags).

Hey 4D THNDR, Where in Chesapeake are you?

I have a supercharged Dakota, and live here in Chesapeake too...

My best time to date is a 14.1 @ 98.6 (from a 318)

No its not an R/T, and Its even a Club Cab... I may have seen your truck one time at Merchants at Chesapeake Sq. Mall some time ago?

What PSI do Ligntnings run? I'm only pushing 8PSI @ 5000 RPM... Powerdyne SCer of course...

Maybe we could meet one day =) I'd like to look over a lightning one day...

BTW, I have a Silver 97 Dak, CC, 318, Auto, 4x2... and I'm 18 (Does that mean I'm a punk ) Gimme a wave one day if ya see me... I have a Ram Head sticker in my back sliding window

Cool

Sunday morning pre-coffee checklist:
1. Did I sign-on to my normal Lightning site: Yep!
2. Did I sign-on to a Dodge R/T site: definitely no!!
Why? Well, lo and behold, there's a Lightning in my garage. OK - so far, so good.

T-Bird302: I'm not exactly sure what you expected to read on this board but for the most part it's pro-Lightning stuff. Lots of cool members - some who have done some killing and some (few) who have gotten killed. Pretty 'heads up' stuff. Have I ever run an R/T? Yep, a couple of times. Did I go out of my way to do it? Never. I was chased by one on Telegraph Rd. for 2-3 miles until I finally gave him a brief run. Are all R/T owners punks - definitely not. Was the one who drove like an a**hole to catch me? IMO yes. So, unfortunately there may be some guilt by association. If you take the time to read R/T related posts you'll discover that in most cases Bolt owners are the ones being dogged to run.

Nuff said - coffee is ready!

Topcat -

I know this is going to be hard to believe, but you've just encountered the the more intelligent half of the R/T twins.

When I was trying on my winter 17" 2000 SuperCrew wheels on for size for snowmobile towing, a guy (Noel) came riding up, young son in tow on a seat on the back of his bicycle, asking if I liked my L. "I LOVE IT" He told me he owned the blue R/T down the street; I never knew there was one close by. He asked me about performance and track times. I told him. A really nice guy, and honest too about his R/T's performance. He said he had just put it up for sale and was looking at a Lightning or a WS6; he also asked me for advise, being that I had just recently sold my 1997 30th Anniversary SS, what I would choose if I had to decide between the two. I told him it depended on his personal needs. The L hauls and hauls ***; the WS6 hauls *** and holds more passengers and has a higher top speed. Two weeks later as I'm putting the Harley bed liner in my L, he pulls up with his beautiful wife and kid in the back seat of an gorgeous dark blue WS6. Hey, he got what he wanted. More power to him. I asked him "want to go to Milan?" he said "I gotta' break it in first" Should be fun to go out and see what's the LS1's got. I'll post.

4D Thunder... You outta come check out the Hampton Roads Racing page...
(tis one reason I signed up on here)
its for us people in the Tidewater area to chat about racing and general chat...

here the webpage.. http://pub20.ezboard.com/bhamptonroadsracing

Hope to see ya there... =)

and to yall other guys, I dont drive an R/T, its just a regular dakota with the small V8 (230 HP stock) running 14.1...

Now, the R/T's are the fastest N/A trucks out there... and Lightnings are faster than the Cobras! (my best friend has a 98 Cobra, nice car) Yall have the fastest stock trucks out there if you do the "truck" catagory, but rumors show 2003 the R/T's will come SC'd too... (to compete with yall

Enough Ramblings, I respect the lightning, but some people have that attitude that because they drive a lightning, they are the god of the trucks, as well as some of the kids in the R/T's... but me? I have the attitude of, if you think yer all that, let me show you what this dak can do...

Tim
