a number of very reputable guys at NHTOC have reported mpg improvements with it. RobW drives his truck all across the midwest for work and keeps notorious track of his mileage for work, and i am almost 99% sure he posted up he saw nearly 2 mpg improvement with the EM kit and the same driving habits as before. most other members who did it posted up they got around 1 mpg improvement.

believe me i thought i would be a BS mod as well, but the results show differently. as RobW always post up when this topic arises at NHTOC...we're dealing with "ELECTRONIC fuel injection" and the easier the flow of electrons and electricity with the least amount of resistance, the better the results in the end.
and for around 100 bucks, even if you only get 1/2 mpg better, its still worth it in a short amount of time.

anyway, yeah doing mods to save mpg dont really make sense on a lightning or harley truck, but most of the ones i suggested up in my 1st post also are hp mods as well...so its the perfect excuse to tell the wifey that you are trying to get better mileage, when your real motive can still be to get more hp for the track
I'd have to agree with Tim Skelton on this one.....if it really worked, you don't think Ford would have done it from factory? The cost would have been minimal. Two miles per gallon is over a 10% increase. I would think that the factory would utilize this little "trick" if it actually scientifically worked. It's possible that people drove differently, or they were on the highway more on the "test" tankful of gas after they installed this thicker wire/extra wires mod.

Ok have a ? about this. What if were were to detune the motors to make less HP/Tq. 2. Can't the guys with 3:73 gears switch to 3:55s. Would these 2 things save any fuel. Can 3:55 go to any lower to a 3:27 gear.

Just wondering if any of this would work.

Don't ask me to explain it; but, I picked up 1.25 mpg going from 3.73s to 4.10s. This is driving mostly between 45-65 mph, and an even mix of city and hwy driving. On a long trip I think I would lose mileage. I haven't tried it yet.

like i said, believe it if you want, dont believe it if you dont want to. i'm just saying most guys posted up that they got increases on the same driving habits.

and the "why didnt ford do it from the factory"? gimme a break man. why didnt ford do an e-fan from the factory too? why didnt ford do a chit load of other things from the factory. lol cuz they got their heads up their azzes.

now if i said get the tornado intake thing, then you's can scream BS. but i just offered up a few suggestions. take it or leave it.

and i forgot St.LouisL had his little spout with RobW a while back. glad you sold the HD man

Don't discount the effects of poor grounding - it's usually one of the last things looked at. I don't know anything about this "grounding kit" - but I can tell you that many times in the past I solved mysterious electrical problems by taking off the current grounds and cleaning up the teriminals real well before reinstalling them with good clean bolts/screws - and occasionally installing additional ground wires/straps. Many years ago is was quite common to install additional grounding straps on distributors to ensure proper current flow through the ignition points. I can recall resolving some strange intermittent electrical problems by installing an additonal ground strap from the battery to the engine and/or frame. I'm pretty sure none of these picked up any gas milage - but don't discount improper grounding as a source of electrical problems as often this is among the last things that gets checked - and it's usually an easy fix.
