Did you have steel thread inserts put in your spark plug threads.

I got put in my place by some smart *** around here a while back when I said you should never put steel thread inserts in a 2V spark plug thread. I had my reasons for saying it.

Dale

PS....I haven't seen it mentioned yet but I cannot stress this enough....how important it is too have at least a 1/2 tank of fuel when you are out "playing"

inserts can cause hot spots - thats why ford does not want them used. BTW they do allow it on other engines.

Do a relative injector flow test - will tell u if they are even flow to each other.

check the injector o rings to make sure no leaky at intake.

inj drive in pcm fubar?

Thats beyond funny
I really, really feel for you Pal..........

I can only offer 2 ideas

1)
Sell the truck and get a job at the dealership changing plugs
You must be a MasterChanger by now

2)
Already told you what I would do
the offer still stands, for the ride to the LIRR

It has to be from "too much timing"

LOL - Had to say it after the 100 or so posts about timing....

Seriously you have made so many changes you need to start eliminating variables

Start by getting the safest tune you can to test with - then use the suggestions of Rocks and others to see what helps
Good Luck

I'd check to see if your injectors are flowing correctly. I'd also see if the piston is beating up the plug, or if there is something in the cylinder if it's the same plugs each time. (Longshot.)

My first set of plugs broke after I got my new motor, and I cracked one plug some time after that. But I've got 15,000 miles on it now, no plug problems anymore, knock on wood.

I would say the colder plug and confirm proper fuel delivery.

Since i am no expert i usually take what Sal has to say as right on the money, so what does Sal say about this issue?

Dale,
I sent Robs details to Trev back in the U.K. a while back since he has been around engine building for 30 years and he said the same thing about the steel inserts. He couldn't believe they would even be used. Are they definitely causing issues, who knows but they shouldn't be ruled out.

I believe Sal and Rob have tried every tune possible so the injectors and inserts need some close attention.

be careful with those Denzos. I melted 2 plugs the elctrodes cracked off and destroyed 2 pistons and my head. I would not screw around until you figure that out. And I would not use the denzos until you figure it out as I think they are very delicate.

Maybe it is your Plasma Booster

He doesn't have his Plasma Booster on anymore. Sal told him to take that garbage off of his truck when he was dynoing.

Put the 55's or 60's in there. I don't think its timing since its happened on race fuel also. The 50's are probably old enough that their delivery rate is marginal for your power level. I wouldn't hesitate to go bigger on the injectors immediately. That's gotta be hard on the pistons.

The half black half white coloration is probably from low speed idling/running after the WOT pass, adding color back to the tips.

Hey V,
Send me your coils buddy,

lets see new injectors AGAIN, New Coils, Re-tuning, ...

i also think it points to the injectors. i would think with the power you are going for with the big shot you should be running 60's as for changing them its not to hard just gotta unbolt the fuel rail 4 bolts and it pulls up with the injectors.

50# injectors are just fine for the HP he is running on blower. The nitrous adds solenoids adds the fuel on the bottle, not the injectors. If he was running a dry shot it would be different.

On the inserts; I would like to see more testing on them. I could see them causing a problem, but then again what's the difference when everything is in contact with everything else?

injectors

I think it might be your injectors bro. I'd like to see you throw on a set of 60 with that magnum and get retuned. I'd be curious to see the results.

I thought that might have been the problem all along.

here's another idea, (I think it might be the injectors also, but if it is random on which plugs get toasted, maybe not.) but here's a shot, have you checked to verify that all the engines grounding straps ar on and that they aren't corroded? I've seen some weird stuff happen when vehicle's engines are not grounded correctly, mostly vettes since they are all fiberglass. but you said your truck has a newly built motor in it, i'd check to make sure all the engines grounds are on and are grounded correctly. just a shot in the dark.
