I think you need to invest in a dictionary before an attorney.

get a lawyer. Its not a waste of money, with the tickets your looking at, it might actually save you money.

Even if you have to pay the full fine "Courts usually like to get the money" The money you save on insurance will probably pay for the lawyer fees.

Most people cant afford to have their liscense suspended, I would get some Legal help.

You can try a sob story if you want, But most judges arent impressed by defendents that dont take resposiblity for their actions. In some cases, Judges send people to their deaths........ I wouldnt go in counting on judicial pity for a traffic ticket.

Exactly what I was going to say.
You need to practice better communication skills and get a lawyer.
Use being a good student/hard worker in your defense.
I got nabbed in Mass. a few years back. Cost me several trips to and from with a broken leg on crutches and about $1,000 in fines, court costs and Lawyer fees. Also got a year of probation. -Mat-

I don't think bringing up the fact that it is a high performance truck with a loud exhaust will help you much as the courts will think STREETRACER and they are trying real hard to stop that stuff.
Get a mouthpiece, bite the bullet and hope that they can get you a smaller fine or judgement. Don't try to BS, them they hear it all day long and are not going to feel your pain.
Best of luck

Well, that is only if you live in California and the cops here is tired people racing on the streets.........and teenages dying left and right due to street racing...........I am just telling you what is going on over here in Northern California.......I have a modified import car and get pull over sometimes just to see if I have any stolen parts.........the California highway patrol and local law inforcements also set up check points to stop all modified vehicles to see if they have any illegal parts and stolen parts..........
I hope you get the exhibition part off since that is the one will really hurt you in a long run.......arguing with a cop is not good since the court usually favors them.........if you do have to ask, ask nicely.......

If he talks like he writes, he's lucky he didn't get a DUI.

Lawyer up. Unless you are lucky, it's gonna cost you a ridiculous amount of money either way.

FWIW, depending on the jursidcition, Exhibition of Speed can be serious charge. I was written up for it over 20 years ago. I was shocked to find it was a MISDEMEANOR and the max penalty included jail time.

Check into the laws in your area and find what the maximum fines & penalties are. $1,000 for an attorney will probably look cheap.

Automatic reckless driving because anything over 80 MPH or 15 over the posted speed limit is considered reckless driving in the Commonwealth. I took one of those online Defensive Driving courses before going to court, and asked the judge if he'd reduce the charge to speeding. Didn't give him any BS, just said I made a mistake. He reduced the charge and made me pay a $100 fine. Better than the alternative. BTW, Traffic Court is all about the Benjamins.
actually it's 80 / 20 mph for wreckless in VA... AND it is still not "automatic". I've had tickets for 20 and 23 over and neither were wreckless... it is up to the cop's discretion as to whether they consider it wreckless. actually, the 23 over was in TN now that I think about it, but the 20 over was in VA and I remember asking the cop whether it was considered wreckless and he said no, they have the option of choosing that but since it was only 20 he could let me off with just speeding. HOWEVER, many insurance companies will consider 20+ the same as wreckless as far as adjusting your premium upwards.

and like everyone says, don't even think about NOT getting a lawyer.

You definately need a lawyer. Your misplaced anger wont help your case at all...

You cant always spell stuff the way it sounds.
The "Cop didnt see" you and "it was going to be worse" Seems to be a problem with tense - Maybe the experience has you so tense that you mixed up the tense.

No, that's his best defense.
"Your Honor, I have been charged with peeling my tires and a display of excessive speed but, as you can plainly see on my vehicle registration, I drive a GMC."
