Glad to hear that Pony!! My KB just arrived a few weeks ago and I'm trying to meet the warranty requirements for it. Won't see the truck for a few weeks, getting a little work done!! I hope the whipple works out for everybody, I just think they will go through a learning process too(like KB). I hope my KB doesn't go clack, clack, but if it does I'm sure it'll be covered!!

How many miles has your truck seen with the KB on it??

I would think the rigors of daily driving would be harder on it then 1/4 mile at a time. You probably produce very little heat, esp since you are spraying it. And you're not really spinning it that much harder than most. Right

Two quick comments....

The difference between the KB and the whipple (when released) is that the KB was a COMPLETELY new blower (casting, rotors, everything) whereas the whipple is the same 2300AX blower that they use on TONS of other kits. It has already been tested and the learning process is long over with.

Although the blower on my truck isnt the official whipple kit, (Ive got a Works140) it does use the SAME 2300AX blower that the whipple kits will, and I have a ton of miles on the blower (10,000ish) with an 8lb lower and 3" upper and it has had ZERO problems with the blower.

If/When the Whipple is released, it will be a solid, well-performing kit..

PS - Please keep the Works cracks to yourself...

I hope that means that KB will be adapting their new 2.4 blower for the Lightning. I know a local Cobra here that upgraded and he is now running 9.80's.
By the way My KB has 14k daily drivin miles and still going strong. Problem is you only hear about the bad ones. Kinda like how Chevy guys think Lightnings suck cause they blow motors all the time. The bad examples get magnified even though it's just a fraction of them that are bad.

Whipple is a phigment of your imagination... Just because someone build an intake system to allow the whipple to work on our trucks doesn't mean I give whipple ANY credit.

The developer of the works system deserves all the credit... I repeat screw whipple and their empty promises.

But when's the last time a stock lightning blew up?? That is caused by us over revving the blower. Now think about how hard some of us spin these eatons and how much heat they produce, when is the last time you heard of an eaton blowing up?

Here's my issue of why I personally won't buy one. I've heard of several people who are on their third blower, and while it's great that they are replacing them, I respect that, if this is truly a performance product you shouldn't have to.

If there are 15 failed blowers on this board that is WAY too many. 1-5 MAY be acceptable.

If planes were as successful as KB's there would be alot more crash victims. I think the only reason KB gets away with it is for so long they were the only sheriff in town, but hopefully that will be changing in the future. I think they work great when they work, but I've heard too many horror stories to feel comfortable shelling out 3 grand.

Just like no one is forcing me to buy a KB no one is forcing you to buy a whipple. Your incessant whining is getting a little rediculous.

Anyone who has been around performance products knows NOT to order a product when it FIRST comes out, aka the KB, Predator, all of which were backordered at one time. I think you'll be singing a different tune when they finally do come out. It's the same scenario that everyone gave Works **** for, but the works/whipple blowers outperformed KB then and will do so in the future. But that's just my humble opinion. Availability is a whole 'nother issue. I don't like the 2 weeks thing, but I knew enough not to place an order until I saw one on a shelf.

It's OK to place and order, we don't charge anything to anyones credit card until the unit is actually shipped. And those who have placed orders will, of course, be the first ones to get them.

Again, though, this is not a new supercharger. It has been run on thousands of vehicles and boats for over five years.

Anyway, thanks to those who have ordered them and are being patient. You will be well rewarded by the wait.

Actually, low class is you not doing your job.

You take 5 minutes out of your busy schedule and make a weekly update post for those interested in spending upwards of 3500 with REM on this blower, then you may not have to read threads with the title such as this one. Its not a hijack if its not your thread dude.

Atleast JL is displaying available product, even if that product has reliability issues.
