Why is it so hard to believe that a 500hp viper truck can run a 12.9? If indeed it is 500flywheel horsepower, which would equate to around 430-440 whp, i think it would be pretty easy to run 12s. Here is a link to a bonestock dyno, with exception of the throttlebody.

I mean what does a 400/500 hp lightning run the 1/4 in? If the weights are similar why is it so hard to believe that it ran a 12.x. Seems like it would be pretty easy to roll one off the showroom floor, slap some nittos on it and pull off a mid 12 second run.
The problem is the shifter is as long as your leg and that's going to effect times. They should have put in an auto but they dropped the ball again. Not to mention the overlying factor of weight.
Mopar sites list the SRT-10 as running a 13.8 quarter mile, thats slower than a stock lightning. To run a 12.8 it would need 471 to the wheels. The truck is still going to lose time with the shifter, nobody can shift as fast as an auto can, expecially with that 2x4 they call a shifter.

HP from ET (1/4 mile) = 5,000 * (5.825/12.8)^3

Does Ford (or FoMoCo) even produce the Sonny Racing Engine?
2004 Ford racing catalog, page 18. 514 cu. in. crate engine, 625 hp (same block as a production 460).

You're right about Unoid, the fact that your Hemi arguement is stupid has nothing to due with you living in Canada...

you fished through this Lightning Forum pretty well with you dodge magazine facts and got all the bites you were looking for ....,
you were doing some good mainstream "trolling" for a kid without a drivers license and a stack of magazines for info but I think you crossed the line with this statement because you can't back it up with a magazine .....or a link ...or your screen name on the SRT-10 Forum...

Do you feel uncomfortable now that you have been caught in a LIE 12.9
