Damn, you’re a persuasive women “Just do it" she says, Oh I’ll do it…

I might go by Friday and see what happens and I did tell my daughter she would be able to drive it “at times with ME in it”. However, once she turns 16 there is NO WAY in hell she is taking it out alone. I am sure she would be fine, but some kids, like adults could give a chit about someone’s vehicle and I could see scratches all over it…

Let her drive it to Jersey and I'll drive it back...

Fast Gator:

"Until the Gen III's hit the payment, you would better off buying a used Lightning" at a better buy in. "

Also let us consider that the new GEN III will probably have it's
own unique first year production problems...new engine,
trans, suspension, wiring harness, emissions etc....As tempting as it might be, first year vehicles can be an "iffy" reliability issue.
Even if money wasnt a consideration...i'd still be real cautious of the first year voodoo do do.

There are exceptions to every case but we are driven and committed to flawless launches. We are coached and counseled through the whole launch process. Ford is now disciplining people up to and including termination for quality. I have a heavily moded 2000 Lightning and I have rebuilt my motor 3 times. I have never asked Ford to fix something that I did. I'm not saying that’s the way it is in every case just giving you my .02 c.

Come on down and you can have her drive you around. Of course there will be a governor on it to limit the speed…

As far as modding goes, I wouldn’t really be doing any, raising my daughter takes up the mod money which is fine, but if I did mod it that would come after the warranty was up…

Damn, I am already talking like I have one, still a bit of a long shot…

Thanks for your comment...the attitude of a flawless launch is to be commended but in the the world of customer purchase sometimes bad things happen at the factory or even at the dealership...I've kept 2 Lightnings bone stock just to avoid any warranty issues...and I take great care of my vehicles....given that Ford and/or SVT can drop the ball in terms of fixing stuff (my prior posts on rough engine idle); even my dealer cannot get SVT to step in to "attempt to resolve" the problem...So currently I am NOT impressed with SVT at all...in my humble opinion something is not right in the Ford empire....

Dang, for a little squirt you talk awful big on the internet.

As for Kyle, I have no idea who he is and what makes you think he was a friend of mine? Just lay off all the drama and this forum would be a better place.

I certainly don't think I know it all, but I do know some things that I'm willing to share. I definitely learn more than I give. You tell so many stories on here, you don't know where the truth ends and the lies begin anymore. banana:

I had a minor problem.....one fairly warm day I went to open my sliding rear window and the weatherstripping came loose. The epoxy, glue, or whatever was smeared all over the window. I went to the dealer today and they said they ordered a whole new back window....I'm still in love with the truck though

For someone in the market for a new L your best bet is (opinion only) is the 03/04...besides you stated an excellent price...
I just hope you get one from an honest dealer with GOOD techs.

Have you received any 2004 Lightnings in yet? Do you do X plan pricing? I was told that a Jim Teed that works in your SVT sales department can get the best pricing. Please let me know what you have and if not available, when will they be?

Al

You find much out Al

I think I rember posting and asking you to send me your info about your case and I would forward it to my counter parts at SVT we can get you by your road block. I can't promis you more than you already got I can just do my part to help a L bro out.
send me an e-mail through this board and I'll do what I can.

bluelightning - dude you gotta admit, you don't have the greatest with vehicles.

01 - the question should not be what problems/recalls are out there on the vehicle. The question should be which vehicle ***** do you not mind putting up with.
