"With that this lunatic slams his truck in gear and jumps out, he is a really big dirty looking guy,"

After I read that part, I thought you were going to say, "I ran over to him and dropped him with a right cross." Oh well. Next time

It was intended to demonstrate that the gun answer is somewhat absurd.
The funny thing is, in every account I have read so far, the gun stopped any violence from occuring. What's absurd is an idiot who jumps out of his car to start a fight over a parking space or because they did something idiotic on the road and someone called them on it.

If you can walk away, by all means do so. Still it is nice to think one of these morons might get the ***** scared out of them every once in a while. Maybe make them think twice before they decide to act like an a$$hole.

That said, if you draw a gun, you better be prepared to use it. I, for one, would have no issue doing so.

Im not sure if that sounds right??? You talk ***** to some guy, then run back to your pick-up and grab a gun?
This is the way I look at it, if your going to yell at some stranger, you probably better be ready for a fight. Granted, the dirtbag in the Bronco was at fault. Guns do have their place. Some guy tries to car jack you, or three guys try to rob you. But to get in an argument, and grab a gun? That's not right.

I have a Sig 9mm and a license to carry it. I have to admit pulling it would have felt good in this situation but honestly you really can't do it unless you plan to shoot him. Then you would be shooting an unarmed man and probably serve some jail time or go broke defending yourself, keep in mind the assailant or his family would sue you to for everything you have, you know pain and suffering.

It stinks because this is were the honest citizen is literally up the creek because in this situation it appears the idiot had nothing in his hands so, could you say "my life was in danger"? or just that you were about to get pounded?

Running is really the only alternative with an unarmed idiot on your tail.

*note, readers digest did an article on guns and how many crimes they have prevented by just brandishing the weapon. You always here about the shootings and the bad stuff about guns but never the guy or girl who pointed a gun at someone to stop a rape or robbery then went on with there life. It happens daily!

Oh and one more thing. If there are any store owners here with that STUPID sign on there door that reads "No concealed deadly weapons" do you really think that a robber is going to see that sign and say to himself "Ahh.. crap, and I really needed some money today"! you are keeping out honest law abiding citizens not the robbers, how stupid is that?

Off soap box

As much fun as pulling out the 9mm and ventilating the a$$hole would be, it ain't very realistic.

The best thing you can do is to pull out your cell phone and make SURE the jerkoff sees you with it to your ear, and dial 9-1-1. Even if you fake dialing or even fake that you have a cell phone, most of the time the culprits will usually back off and disappear FAST.

Worth a try, anyway.

I may be ready for a fight with him, but when his buddy jumps out of the car to help, that just does not work.

...
Exactly.
It really is sad when someone does something stupid and you can't call them on because of what they may do.

James-01L - my post wasn't to scare but just to prove a point of a situation that could happen. That guy was an *** period and you have every right to point it out to him.

As jaymz said, pulling out a cell phone and letting them see you call is something you can do in a situation like that. I'm a big proponent of concealed carry, but I also expect people who carry that right to hold it in the highest responsibility and do everything in their power to exhaust all means first, meaning a gun is your last resort. Unfortunately many people are not responisble enough for that.

This is so true. Look at a state like Vermont. A _lot_ of people in Vermont own and carry guns. Last year there were something like 25 murders in the whole state and not one of those was commited with a gun. Just goes to show you- people can actually act responsibly given the chance.

People that carry guns with a license.
I still haven't had to use mine, but I carry it everyday just in case I get the chance.

On a side note, what about the fueding neighbors in Colorado. The one this week where a guys neighbor came over and started threatening and I think broke a wiindow while standing on his neighbors porch. The home owner said he felt threatened and shot dead the guy. No charges self defense. Those are the kinds of laws this country needs.

Your absolutely correct. It is you’re right to protect yourself and family and your right to own a gun. If It were me, and my daughter (15 years old) was with me and some dumb *** moron trapped me in with no way of getting out well guess what, the dumb fu*k will get one warning to move his dumb *** before I pop a cap in his ***, and not just one cap, but I would unload the whole freaking gun on his dumb stupid ***…

To many morons running around now days thinking they are some kind of bad *** because the laws do nothing to them, they have no responsibility, so if it takes a firearm to FORCE them to be responsible then so be it.

And has been mentioned, once these morons have a gun or two pulled on their malfunctioning brain, they may think twice about running their mouth and playing tough guy…

This past Tuesday I was the victum of road rage. I was with my pregnant wife and 4 year old daughter. I was driving her VW Pssatt on hwy121, we were in the outside land that merged into the inside lane. I put my signal on to merg and a a$$ in a F250 hit the gas to block me. I continued on the sholder to slow and get behind him when he started to come onto the sholder in attempts to hit us. Well after two tries he got it right and his front then rear tire hit my door. I swerved onto the grass and stop, well he keeps on going. I made sure my family was allright and them took off after him. I caught up with him a mile down the road and he stoped. I got out and was going to put a foot in his a$$ but then thought about JAIL. I asked him what his Fu--ing problem was and he said that I hit him. Well the police came and he lied but what he did not expect was for three people that saw what he did to come back when they saw that the police had arrived.

I took the whole thing as a learning experience because I too can act like a bad a$$ some times. So I have tried to be more curtious on the streets. Well as the saying goes "good guys finish last". Thursday of this week on my way home in the L a guy is cutting in and out of traffic on the highway. I see him coming up on my left (I am in the slow lane) and my lane is the only clear lane. Instead of hitting the gas to make him get behind me I hit the brakes to make sure he has enough room safely to cut me off. Well there is a piece of sheetrock in the highway and when he ran over it it flew up and hit my front driver side bumper and fender. If I had spead up then I would have ran over the sheetrock and it would have flown up and hit him. But all I get for changing for the better is a scrached up bumper. We always say it could have been worse but I say it could have been avoided if people would think of other people sometimes.
