One of the beautiful things about AZ, perfectly legal to leave it sittin on the dash in plain sight, tends to re-awaken peoples common sense.
Unfortunately I live in NY and it is just about impossible to get a carry permit.

The real problem is that even if you were to fight these morons and win, you would wind up in jail. Most of those people are too stupid to think about jail and just do not seem to care. More brawns than brains I suppose.

When did self defense become a crime in so many areas of this country? :/

James, next time you go to dinner with you wife, invite me........... 6'4" 230 lbs and currently really cranky with the notion of possibly having to sell my L.................I need to relieve some frustration!

Seriously, glad you and she are o.k., there is always someone out there with more brawn then brains, ignorance runs rampant sometimes. Glad you used your common sense and got out of there, who knows what could have happened.

D-Day

My thoughts eactly.

NJ is the same way with stupid ***-backward gun laws. Hell even if you did defend yourself you could still be looking at getting in trouble with the law.

I'm only 5'4", but I can hold my own and I know it. But still I know my limits and when to back off. You definately did the right thing.

Except next time, get his plates.

Yeah....

Once in a parking lot some guy and his family in a station wagon pulled around me and stole my parking space. I stuck my head out the window and said
"Hey...that's my space!"
Talk about rage...the guy goes ballistic. He jumps out of his car and starts screaming at me and pounding on my truck, yelling obscenities and so....
I pull out my P99

and wasted the little prikk on the spot. Then I went over to the station and wasted his family. Then I pulled the registration out of the glove compartment and found out where he lived and killed all his neighbors.

It was Christmas, ya know, and parking spots are hard to find.

Heck ya...that's the way to deal with rage.

(Disclaimer: The previous story is fiction. It was intended to demonstrate that the gun answer is somewhat absurd. ) (Just in case you couldn't figure that out.)

As well as carrying a Glock, carry a Stun baton as well, (keep in car/truck at all times) they're big, and just by turning it on, they send loud messages, and you won't get arrested as easily for one of them, as you would for pulling a gun. I'm all for Guns, I have me a Glock 17, but there are sometimes when it's wisest not to pull a gun... I agree totally with the "Since when was Self Defense Ilegal"

I'm really glad you and your wife are OK though!

You guys are definitely entitled to your opinions but if it comes down to me and some tatted up lunatic about to harm me or my possesions, then I like to know I'm the one who's gonna walk away. I think he did the right thing to leave but what would've happened if he were in a parking spot that he couldn't get out of? It's not like I drive down the road pointing my gun at every moron that cuts me off. I was insinuating a life or death situation where some big SOB looks like he might want to kill you.

That story was funny.

But how exactly is the gun thing absurd? It should be illegal to protect yourself and family?

What if the the guy and his buddy decided to block Jame's truck in, smash his window, pull him out and beat the **** out of him? Thats not even a hypothetical scenario, it's happened many times and will continue to happen.

Brawns over brains will always pick on the weak. Just like criminals pray on the helpless.

Know if you meant the gun answer as in the way dealerjim worded his thoughts, thats a different topic.

dealerjim,
I agree that a situation might arise where a gun would be your only means out of it, but Its just my opinion that its going to do more harm then good, especially if the other person also has a gun.

Now you guys are starting to scare me!

Thanks, Dan and everyone for all the positive comments. I really did not decide, it was all instinct! (I'm 6' and 175lbs) This guy was much bigger than me, even if he was smaller than me, I still would have run. I do not need any crap like that, it will never turn out good. I learned a very valuable lesson, the guy could had a gun or like what captaino said. Next time (hopefully there never is one) I will just shut my mouth. If my emotions where not so high (thinking my wife was going to get hurt) I would have thought it through... "What will happen next, if I yell at him?"

Looking back and seeing all the different things that could of happend, I should have kept my mouth shut and blew it off and just be thankful he did not hit her Chevy truck. -Hey tbfastlightning, just a little tip, it has NOTHING to do with what brand you drive.

-James

Similar thing happend to me a while back. I was running late to pick up my brother from my mom's house so I was driving a little faster than everybody else. Everything was cool until I got behind some A$$ Clowns that was doing about 55 in a 70 in the left lane. After about 2 miles of being stuck behind them I eased up a little closer to them to try to get them to move out of the way. This punk then jams on his brakes, trying to get me to rear end him. I finally catch a break in traffic and here we go, I want to get past this guy and on with the rest of the night, but he is giving that little Grand Am of his a floging trying to keep me from getting past him. I burn him and think that all so good, but NO he follows me for another 15 miles. So I stop at a gas station to lose him. They try to hide in a carwash across the street waiting on me. Now only 3 miles from Mom's house and knowing that I don't want these punks following me there I call the cops from my cell phone and arrange a meeting in the Police Dept Parking lot. You should have seen those little Ba$tards run when I pulled into to police station. Little did they know, there were about 5 cops waiting to bust their butts. I am glad that I did the smart thing and call the cops. Because if these little *****s had followed me to my mom's I would have shown them what "10 in the clip and 1 in the hole" means.

I had a Employee 3 years ago or so hurl a jar of Minute Maid orange drink out the sunroof of my KIng Ranch. Some guy cut Jay off and he was in a bad mood because he was loading Pop Machines all day, the guy cut him off Jay blew the horn the guy beaked off and hammered the brakes on Jay freaked, reached in the Supercrew and hurled a jar right through the back window of this guys station wagon. Before you know it the phone rang at my shop the call was transfered to my office and I ended up at the cop shop sorting this mess out.
