I love the thought of a Viper Motor in ANYTHING I can afford.
However that frucking TRUCK NOSE has got to go before
I'd ever consider owning one.

No matter how fast something is, (or isn't)
it has to look good to appeal to me

I guess in the Dodge you can't put anything in the bed that has some height to it. Seeing how that wing crosses over the bed .

The wing is removable. IIRC, one socket and 2-3 minutes will do it.

Of course, looks are subjective. Many guys here wouldn't be caught dead in a Gen1 Either way, it's a fast truck, and some much needed competition.

I think a 05 3v lightning with a tourqshift trans will make the srt 10 lunch.

I think the only reason the L price will go up is for the tourqshift trans, good rods, maybe diff blower/boost level (depends how quick the dodge really is) - ford will more than likely stick with the 3v heads as they are close to the 4v (power wise/cheaper)

The trans is the biggie along with decent rods - it has been proven that there is still plently left to geet out of a 5.4, yet alone one with rods, 3v heads and a factory monstor box. (they could even use 6spds out of it - depending on the overlap of gear ratio's)

As for genII - i might add a 2# lower just to make sure (hope that's enough)

Cool

They started running commercials for the SRT-10 on ESPN2 this morning.

It had a SRT-4, Viper and pulling up the rear was the SRT-10. Richard Petty was at the end of this short commercial saying something about Dodge but I can't remember the exact words.

a few words

It's a Dodge.

It's ugly (tho the wheels look nice)

And I'll wait for the real ones to show up, if they ever do, for comparisons, side by side with our Lightnings.

And....I'm tired of hearing from Dodge guys about the "hemi", that has NOTHING whatsoever to do with the old 426.
An open deck truck motor with aluminum heads is just asking for trouble. (chrysler's head gaskets with alum heads are known leakers)

Damn man, you say that quite a bit. Sounds like someone has something against GEN II's. Don't be upset. Whether it is faster stock Vs. stock or not. What does it matter. Not a whole lot of people keep a performance vehicle stock. -Mat-
