My thoughts....

It actually looks nice in person. It's got an emblem on the hood "Viper powered".

Those are some bigass wheels (22")

The interior is nice but the seats are too thin. There's this huge center armrest that's almost wider than the seats.

That gear shifter has got to go...
should be automatic like our Ls

I can take or leave the wing...

I still like the L better, and the GenIII even more.
It's ugly a Hell......... i would like to drive one tho with slick's to see what it can do befor i would bash it any more....... Good color tho !

First...let me get my flame suit on...

I must say, it looks much better in person than these pix show, in fact, I was surprised how much I liked the look of it in person....

OK...let me have it...

My Opinion?

The truck looks like a cartoon.

the rear wing is stupid
the two on one side of the bumper exhaust is stupid
the front end is beyond stupid, looks like a cheap aftermarket add-on.
from the side, the front of the truck looks like it just crashed or something, the front end is squished.

now the wheels I actually do like quite a bit.

all in all, the thing doesn't look like a factory built truck.

I liked the one they showed last spring at Daytona much better
except for the wheels

this black truck looks much more subtle and refined not as tacky:

but in any event my opinion of the truck stays the same...

I can't wait to catch one on the street so I can make 'em feel bad for buying the turd-wagon!

DODGE BOYS, I SALUTE YOU AND YOUR NEW TRUCK!

Not a fan of the exhaust, and according to motor trend it isnt much faster than the current lightning. The new lightning should smoke it.

is it true that thing weighs 1000 lbs more than a LIGHTING>?

If that is true, that thing is a fat pig and needs 500hp to move it.
and that thing will NEVRE hook up!

Good grief that's ugly......one thing I like about the L is that it actually looks good. The lines all flow together nicely and the body kit is understated. The Lightning makes sense.

This goes to show that a truck that was originally designed to look like a semi just can't be made to look like a road racer....

Thank you SVT.....once again, no buyers remorse....

actually i believe the stock Gen 2's would beat it, and the new lightning will just slaughter it. The 1/4 times for the SRT were 14/13's if im not mistaken, so a stock L should just beat it, and thats even if the dodge driver can even drive stick that well

The only problem I see, is that it costs over 50,000. In an article in the Lightning Concept forum, SVT basically says they will do anything and to beat the dodge even if it raises the price to equal the srt-10. This kind of a war is going to make it that most previous lightning owners wont be able to afford the new lightning, which will suck. Becasue if you cant own the truck then it wont matter if the ford or dodge is faster. I feel the dodge is worth the money, but i dont think im alone when I say dodge or ford, 50k is too much for a quick pickup. It's just going to hurt everyone who is invloved in the lightning chain right now, which does great because the truck is a good deal. Just the 2 cents of a under 25 working class sucker who loves the lightning.
