Well since EVERYBODY is limited to 20 lbs of boost or so and it is a mechanical issue and not a computer issue.

This is gonna be good.

Have fun guys !!

this all started when JJ took apart Nuno's engine and found that the bolts used in installing the phenolic spacers were too long
Just for clarification, Nuno's engine wasnt taken apart, its still totally stock, the blower and upper intake were removed for painting and 50lb injectors were put in. I was there when it was apart and witnessed the damage to the blower case from the 4 bolts that were too long. (kinda like dimples in the case) Maybe those dimples cause problems, maybe they dont, but its damage nontheless and obviously KB doesnt want that to be done to their blowers.

One more thing Jim, why are you so hung up on running your trucks at full weight? I noticed V was totally de-weighted for his 11.0 runs, so why burden yourself and whatever L you race with having to push more weight than is needed? I'm pretty sure the computer takes into consideration load in its calculations, so why load it more than needed? And for any of you that will want to answer this question with "I want to know what it will run on the street", thats total BS. You wont hook up on the street to begin with and your probrably not running around with chilled intakes and race fuel, so that just doesnt fly.

I would run full weight too. So I could prove that my truck with full interior and extra stuff could beat someone elses "stripped" truck.

I don't care to be involved in this debate, but I would like to comment on the weight thing. JL, you did state in your Racers Corner interview in Race Pages, "With this much power, and the truck weight under 3800lbs in race trim, we believe we should have what it takes to go 9s this year." So the weight thing is not just BS spreading, you said it yourself.

What exactly is the problem with less weight? Some people take different approaches to reach a goal. All of the top trucks are very close to each other, some running Nitrous, some with less weight. The vehicles are made for those who drive them. If I want a vehicle that goes fast, I don't care about weight or streetability. If I care about comparing it to person xyz's vehicle down the road, then maybe those issues would come up.

So who are you to say, that I am not gonna ride around the street with my Bogarts on>??? I RACE FULL WEIGHT BECAUSE I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT WILL RUN ON THE STREET! Who are you to tell me otherwise>??? That extra couple hundred pounds does mean something whether you race from a roll or a dig. I am sorry you feel different.

Oh yeah, to get one thing straight, on the 8th, I may just strip my truck of a little weight only to get a number. It seems like everyone else is after one so why not me>??? See you on the 8th. Are you gonna be there on 8th Grey03>??? If so stop by the Black 01 Lightning on Bogart D-10's getting towed by the Blue Supercrew. I would love to meet you and shake your hand. -Mat-

jim, i spoke to someone about this and they said No Way! Safety First!... How about asking don to let the MC be bolted to his truck and run a 10? this way the track officials are happy, don is happy to get his 10,(along with us all) and you will be happy to prove the power of the MC.

Sal: i made that statement.. but we havn't made the 3,800 lbs. yet! We still have a few more things to do to the truck...... Will you have your truck ready for the SSOTN? JL

I didn't know if you did or not, just wanted to point out where some people may have gotten the number from. I plan to be at the NATS, but am still putting the truck together, so not 100% sure right now.

I'm not trying to tell you to do otherwise, I was only asking why you do it to begin with and you answered my question, so thanks.

If you want to drive around on a non DOT approved tire/wheel then thats your choice, feel free to do so, but dont bitch when the cop that already dislikes you gives you a ticket and impounds your truck on the spot.

Or you could get some DOT approved slicks and have fun street racing and putting your life as well as others in danger.

I'm not gonna tell you what to do Mat, I just wanted to know why you guys race at full weight and I thank you for answering my question.

I wouldnt miss SSOTN on Nov 8th for the world, and yes, I'll be there with JJ and his crew. Feel free to stop by and say hello, you should have plenty of time to do so once you run an 11 and are told that your done for the day because of no rollbar.

Good luck and race safe.

AY

I don't street race. I also never said that I was going to drive around on the slicks.

I have no problem being told I am done for the day as long as I get my number. I get what>??? One warning then get tossed right>??? Hell, it might not even last one pass for all I know. I will be sure to stop and say hello, just like I did in the Spring. Where you there then>??? Maybe we have already met eachother and I just don't know it. Either way, it should be fun. Maybe I will just make 1/8th mile passes all day and coast down the rest of the track. See ya in 2 weeks buddy! -Mat-
