Along time ago I was working on my drag race car (ran 10.33@133) and I was having valve train problems on a max wedge dodge, kept bending pushrods. Anyway the car was down for awhile and I finally got some pushrods from Dandy **** Landy that "should" fix the problem. Got it all back together, runing good and decided to drive it around the block. Well everything was fine and I took off slowly, well 1/2 way down the street I hit the brake pedal and it went to the floor. There was a small bump in the road and after that a coldesac so figured I'd downshift and turn it around and be pointing back up hill.
Well I hit the "small" bump and holed the oil pan - 8 quarts of oil all over the street. I spent days cleaning that street.

It's funny that this came up after I did something stupid today. Maybe I just do stupid things too often. I finished building the sub box for behind my seat today, put the woofer in it, hooked it up to the amp and sat back to have a listen. It didn't sound any different! Until I took the sub out of the box again, and ran speaker wire from the terminal plate on the box to the sub itself. Sounds much better that way. I have been installing car stereos for 12 years now (6 professionally) - I can't believe I did that.

My buddie and i used to have2.8 camaros and we used to race down this road all the time. After backing up to get in line,We both go WOT.Only problem is I forgot to put it back in drive. He said "WOW" I never thought my car could take off that fast!! No the imprint of the steering wheel on my face didnt mean anything to him until i told him............What really happened.

This one is scary.I was 16 years old and was in the middle of a brake job. on my 2.8 camaro with t tops.I needed to go to the parts store so after taking the pistons out of the calipers (for whatever reason) I just stuffed them back in and procedded to the store with VERY little brakes,Plenty of air in the line and not much fluid. I babied it all the way to the parts store and on my way home a good song came on the radio.I forgot i had no brakes.I was crusing along at about 60mph radio blasting and a person in front of me started taking a left turn.I casually hit my brakes and had NONE after pumping them 3 times in a matter of 1/2 second,My back brakes locked up and my car started doing 360s into this person taking a left.I was coming up on (her)_ quick. She ended up going WOT strait to avoid me and i ended up rolling my car through a tree 1.5 times and ended up on my roof.I quickly jumped out scared of fire and apologizing to her for almost killing her when i realized my radio was still blaring so i crawled back in to turn it off.I was lucky to be alive but looked like a fool.Note to self,"dont drive in the middle of a brake job"

On trip to Texas, I stopping for gas just off the freeway in Nowhere, Arizona. I open the fiberglass rear cover, get something out, and promtly close it locking the keys to the cover and the ignition (remotes also) inside.

Luckily I have a spare ignition key in the cab. Drive off only to have a vision that I had actually left the keys on the bumper. Drove back 35 miles to look. No keys.

Next town, I go to Ford dealer who calls locksmith to open rear fiberglass cover. I end up having to leave truck at Ford overnite. Locksmith drilled out lock only to find no keys inside. I guess I did leave them on bumper and they fell off somewhere.

So, fiberglass cover lock replaced. New spare keys for ignition along with two remotes. One night in some gawd awful town and a rental car. I believe it was just $700 + hotel.

I pickup the truck the next morning, its so dirty I head straight for carwash before leaving town. Guy who vacumns my truck hands me the set of keys I thought lost. Says I found these just under the seat.

A while back (before I knew I had a CUX2 computer) a buddy w/ an 01 model had the same mods as I had.
We were talking on the phone discussing whether or not his programs would work on my 00 L.
(My keys are in the ignition w/ windows up) He tells me to go over to the passenger side and read off the computer code on the inside of door jam.
My dumbass leans over and accidentally hit the lock mode then slam the door when finished.

After finishing a 12 hour day in the quarry am on my way home, see the cherries of a rcmp yukon going on the highway, so i figure i'd cruise by and investigate.
As i drive by i see there's a car in the ditch and the cops are there for assistance, well me living in a small town recognizes the car as one of my g/f's friends, so i turn around and head back and then make another turn so i could give her a yank.
Anyway, as am turning the truck catches some ice, slides straight into the same ditch that the car is in, i figure no problem, at the time my truck had a 4" lift and 33" m/t, i figure i'd back right out, hook up the strap and we'd be all gone, hah, WRONG, as i tried to back out, the *** end slid in the ditch, so now am thinking am really screwed, so i rock back and fourth and nothing, then i see it, this rcmp officer coming over shaking his head, so i roll down my window and he's like "you just didn't do what i think you did?"
I answer yeah, i was just gonna give Carrie a hand and pull her out, hah, cop tells me that thats not Carrie, so then i figure its her b/f Jeff, he tells me, nope, not jeff, as am talking this guy walks up laughing, lil BSin' with him i come to find out 2 weeks ago he bought the car off of Carrie, and i had no i dea who this guy was. SMOOTH! All in all my running board got cracked, and scratched, bottom of my door got scratched to SH&* from driving back in fourth in the snow/sanding material that the grader winged up on the side and i had to sit on the side of the highway and wait for this damn tow truck to come out to pull my new friend out in Carries old car. How's that for Smooth? hah

This one cost me some $$$!

-Installed JLP forced air kit

-Closed hood and started engine

-heard horrible clunk sound, cut engine off

-opened hood, found cell phone in a million pieces throughout the engine compartment

I bought my L used last spring and I was under the hood doing some work. It had 11,000 miles on it so I thought I would clean the carbon off the throttle body and throttle plates. I grabbed my can of STP Throttle Body cleaner and put the red tube nozzle on the end of it. It took the intake elbow loose from the throttle body, opened the throttle plates, and when I sprayed the cleaner the red nozzle blew off the can and went straight into the back of the intake! After a few minutes of panic I knew I was going to have to pull the supercharger and get it out. After a few more minutes of panic and disbelief, I rigged up a slim siphon hose on my shop vac and sucked the nozzle back out. I never would have dreamed that nozzle would shoot a foot off the can and go right in the intake.

here's one for you guys....

Believe it or not, but this didn't cause my termination.

At this factory I used to work at there are two divisions, I used to work in the one at the rear of the plant. So, all of us in this division would drive down a stone driveway along the side of the plant and park in the back. Well, we had 15 min breaks and it would take us all of the break to walk to the front of the plant, then cross the street to go to the gas station there to get a soda and walk back. Well, me being the ringleader decided to start driving around the plant and getting the soda or smokes or whatever and driving back. Soon everyone from back there would pile into cars and take off and it became a race.Well, one day this other guy who had a mid 80's Bronco decides to just barrel down the driveway in reverse, so me, not wanting to be shown up decides to do the same thing in my 88 GT Stang. So we are going down the lane and I am coming up on him hard. When he turned to look through the windshield and saw me getting close to him, his reaction was to hit the brakes. Well, me going however fast a Mustang will go backwards sees a truck stopping in front of me and I slam on the brakes which immediately locks up the front tires like a pedal bike doing a skid. I slide off the driveway into the grass, hit and bounce off of the 1000gallon propane tank and blow right through the corner of the building. All I could do was laugh about it, (that is how I deal with stress I guess) and ended up having to go and get drug tested. LOL
BTW, the tests came out negative if anyeone was wondering.

my first car was a renault encore.

the second day I had it I grabbed a friend and went "backroading"

I tried doing fishtails (mind you I've had my license for 2 days and car for 2 days) which wasn't a good idea in a front wheel drive car.

Needless to say, 45 minutes laters he FINALLY pushed me out of the ditch.
