More Dynatech
By now it's no big secret that Dynatech is now making long tubes for the F-150/Lightning. Just like the other vendors, PSP is going to be selling them. I have spoken to Dynatech at length, and got all the needed information.
The Dynatech long tubes are fully stainless steel, with the EGR port welded on, and super thick port flanges. They have ball socket/doughnut gasket collector flanges, which handle vibration much better than the solid old style flange on the Kooks long tubes (the one thing I didn't like about the Kooks). Also the three attachment bolts for the collector are nice pressed in studs.
The Dynatech Long Tubes are $975, and include the headers, an 8" section of matching stainless tube that bolts to the collector (to attach to your own custom mid pipes), O2 extender harnesses, coated stainless flange gaskets (like OEM), and bolts. They are currently being made, and should be available shortly. We will also be making our own high flow cat mid pipe section to match up to it.
Also, just because there is some confusion with the other vendors and Dynatech, let me set the record straight so all this bickering can stop. Dynatech designed and makes the headers. Razors Edge, has contracted Dynatech to make a full system for them. So REM is selling the same Dynatech headers, but with their own design mid pipes and cat back made for them by Dynatech. Hopefully this will clear up the confusion.

Sal,
The Kook's headers have been available for three years with zero collector flange problems. They are 3/8 of an inch thick so they will never warp. The all stainless headers from JDM/Kooks has a longer collector for better merge. The primary tubes are much better matched for length wise than the Dynatech. Our's are closer to being equal length. The collector merge is the most important thing here, with such a short collector it will be hard to have all 4 primary tubes merge correctly before you hit the cats. Nothing vibrates more than a full blown racecar and I've never heard from any racer that their collector flange vibrated loose or broke. There are more classes that require you to run mufflers than classes with open headers. In fact you've been running the JDM/Kooks headers for the last two years with zero problems.

That's nice Jim, I didn't ask for your opinion, nor do I really care. I don't have anything bad to say about the Kooks other than the fact that I don't like the flange design, which I've voiced to them several times. I've blown out those gaskets and so have several of my customers who've bough the Kooks from me when I sold them. I've run them on my truck because there was no other long tube out there, and now that there is, I will be switching to the Dynatech, since I prefer to run only products I sell. I think your post here was quite uncalledfor, and your post about REM owing you money was EXTREMELY unprofessional.
BTW, the JDM/Kooks headers do not have merge collectors as you said in your post in the other thread. Merge collectors cost about $500 each and look like this:

If these misiing bolts didn't cause any problems with the flange nothing will.
Don, I didn't say the Kooks solid flanges couldn't handle vibration, I said the ball socket flange can handle them better. The ball socket flange is more forgiving, and allows for some slight movement from the rest of the exhaust system without damage to the gasket. That's why this style of flange is used on many OEM cars today.

So now they go as far as bashing products they are probably gonna stop selling. This crap is getting out of hand. Tuner wars, Blower wars and now........Long tube header wars. Blah Blah Blah. Money does funny things to people.

Since I already spent my money I can go ahead and voice my opinion, besides I just woke up and I'm feelin kinda mean.
I have the Kook's headers on my truck and here is what I see with the collector......it's a 3" collector that was swaged down to fit a 2.5" flange and it was done in a space of about 1/2 to 3/4" length. In short its a freakin crimp, it is NOT a smooth merge collector. And it is also a pet peeve of mine.

Well, I've been running JDM's Kooks longtubes for 2 years now and all I can say is I've had zero problems whatsoever. I've got the SS type and they still look great and have never vibrated loose at any of the connections. JDM did an excellent install on the full meal deal and I have recomended them to several people, including South Jersey Fred who just had the Kooks headers and JDM's full exhaust installed last month and he says he loves it. These headers will probably outlast my truck, hehehe. I'm sure the Dynatech's are OK, but I'm sticking with what I've got because they have proven to hold up well, and I love the performance gain they provided, John H.
The collector merge is the most important thing here

I got head.....ers in March of 2001. Not Kooks or Dynatech.
IMHO this should be one of the last mods a person does. THe dollars to HP ration is not that good.
I'd be willing to bet there isn't a 3hp difference between any of the headers out there. They are not worth that much HP to begin with.
