3 Horsepower ?

IMHO this should be one of the last mods a person does. THe dollars to HP ration is not that good.

I'd be willing to bet there isn't a 3hp difference between any of the headers out there. They are not worth that much HP to begin with.
Did you install longtubes or the shorty type? I picked up 2 tenths in the Q-mile after my Kooks header install, so it's hard to imagine I went that much quicker with just 3 more horsepower, geez, maybe there was a tailwind at the track that day, hehehe.

HP means absolutely zero on these trucks.. Its torque.. If its hp you want, time to get rid of your L and buy a honda.. Hang with the rice crowd.. Since they LACK torque.

Torque moves you...

They were longtubes. I dynoed them with nothing but a chip and filter. I got 7rwhp at peak and 12 rwhp at 3300 rpms. My results matched what JDM was getting with this same type of header available through lightningperformance.com.

The HP will get you speed through the traps. If it were all about torque then we would stuff a big ole powerstroke diesel in our lightnings .

True but when doing mods, you pay more attention to the torque gained from a mod, rather then the HP on an L. Esp when it comes to dyno tunes. Would you prefer the tune thats gives you 12 more hp , 15 lbs of torque or the one that gives you 10 hp & 23 lbs more torque?

I prefer a 100 of each . Actually I think some variables such as traction, gearing and your setup have to be figured in to the decision.

If these misiing bolts didn't cause any problems with the flange nothing will.
LOL @ Don, because thats the truth

If I had it to do over again I would not have bought headers from anyone (even though I have them sitting on the shelf because my 03 will not be here until 3-10-03). I wish I had spent the money on the TCE brake kit instead. There is nothing wrong with the system I bought (Kooks/JDM) it's just after some thought I would rather had the brakes.

This bashing crap gets funnier by the minute. Seems as though all these unknown people come out of the wood-work with all the problems the Tuner's ever had. Give these guys a break for crying out loud. They are only human. Everyone makes mistakes, even YOUR Tuner. Yes the truth hurts but we have to live with it. Just think about where we wouldbe without them. -Mat-

The funny part is....I think these people ARE the tuners, not unknown.
