Don't you just love how vendor "Y" has to infiltrate the threads that have NOTHING to do with them , and were started by another vendor? "Y" realizes they now have some exhaust competition, so what better to do than scavenge (ha) a thread to garner their product some attention. "Y" also realizes that bad publicity means more sales for them (do you really think they give a flying crap?), so regardless of how much you love them or hate them (there is no between for vendor "Y"), they still will be successful in their business.

And, don't you just love how when vendor "Z" announces their new exhaust system, then vendor "W" jumps on the bandwagon to offer the same set of headers, and then has to pipe up (ha) and post about it as well.

Reminds me of vendor "X" that swears up and down that they're the only dealer entitled to sell a certain blower, and if anyone else is selling it then they're gonna go whine (ha) and tell.

do you know what would be great? if all this b#tching about headers actually did some good and lowered the prices! last I checked the 03 cobra headers were $745(kooks). So why are the Lightning headers 875? and higher. I think it's time for a March sale!! sale sale sale sale sale. think about it, if you sell X amount more headers at $150 less then you'll make more money, just like the power curve, I bet you guys are out of the peak price efficency range(and I'm not just saying that because I want a deal on a set of headers, maybe) I bet theres a ton of people just waiting for these things to drop 100-200 dollars. Myself included

What are you smoking Gen2. First of all you lose me with all the algebra (X,Y,Z)s**t. Generalizing vendors without specifics is unfair to those vendors who are helpful and are resonable on price.

And speaking of your implication of price gouging, how many of these tuners have private jets huh? (Note I am buyer not a vendor). And I am VERY VERY happy there are vendors out there to meet my needs. So needless to say, I disagree with your view, but repect your right to state it.

Does not the "ball & socket" header hook-up reduce exhaust flow a little bit ? I remember some one in our mustang club grinding out some of the inside of this type of header to gain more flow.

No, not price gouging, but what the love of money will ultimately make someone do. You took my post out of context. I was merely pointing out how they vendors will get down and dirty and fight over every possibly thing, just as quite a few of these members do as well.

The board Admin should prohibit any vendor from stepping foot into a thread that does not pertain to them. The vendors are given too much leniency, IMHO.

I've been hearing how great the Kooks headers are since they were introduced. Now that there is an alternative, we start hearing negative crap that was never mentioned before now. I never read anything about the flange design on the Kooks before this. In truth, I doubt there is any real performance difference between the two. If there is, then shame on the people that withheld this info in hopes of selling the Kooks headers one day. Just remember guys, while the vendors are for the most part great guys, we are still just a customer base to harvest a profit from. Keep this in mind when reading the posts that they make in regards to product.

Don't get me wrong Roger, I am not saying the Kooks are junk now that there is another header on the market. I run the Kooks and I have nothing but good to say about their performance. I just don't care for the solid flange, and this is no big secret, I've expressed this to Kooks many times. But the fact is, Kooks still won't sell to anyone else. And now that there is another company making a quality header, it's time to move on from something I can't sell, to something I can. If Kooks would sell to me direct, I'd keep their headers on my truck, and promote them.

Thanks for clearing that up, Big Guy. You know, if I didn't already have the Kooks, that I'd be getting whatever you carried. Good luck with the new part.

So "if" Kooks were to sell you headers then you would NOT sell the Dynatech?

Well, if I had my choice of both, I would most likely choose the Kooks, but only because they are local to me, and I would save tons of shipping by picking them up myself. I believe both are a quality header, I would be proud to sell either.

Ok Sal cool...Will Dynatech have a Lightning specific catpipe soon? Right now their system is just for a regular F-150 4.6/5.4 right? Too bad more companies will not step up to the plate for longtubes... Thanks
