Works Or KB?

What is the major diff between the two, and why would you choose one over the other?

The rear inlet is sappossed to be more efficient. Also the Works will come with a new upper intake. But if you want the power now buy the KB but if you are willing to wait for the snow to melt check out the Works. I am impatiently waiting on the Works 140
Another kid here in town might get the KB. Also I want my Works 140 polished

Ncetry

Like to see your truck run next summer. With the mods you have and plan, should be 11 sec machine. Almost ready to order KB, since JL has it now, and has some experience with the tune on it.
Looking for low to mid 12's, so it should fit the bill.

If you want everything to bolt up like stock, get the K/B. If you want to remove the blower to change plugs, get the Works. Both units will make more boost than you will probably ever use. From dyno reports that I have seen, I am sure they will make equal power. Skip

Kenne Bell

I have the Kenne Bell, and I love it. I have seen the Works 140 and I am not interested in the way you have to remove the blower just to change the plugs. I purchased mine from Swanson Performance in Torrance, California. Granted the Works will come with a new upper intake but it comes at a pretty penny. I believe the Works will cost over $4000. In comparison to the Kenne Bell wich can be purchased for just $3000. If you want a great blower now, I would pick up a Kenne Bell.

Thanks

Appreciate the input. Talked to JL today, and think I will call him back tomorrow and commit. Did you beef up your bottom end? What is Swanson asking for his KB kit?

Seriously ,you have to remove the blower to get at the plugs??? IMHO that would not even be an option .

it has been reported that #4 is difficult to get, but you do not have to remove the blower to do plugs with the works.

Here's a thread with lots of info on the differences in the two blowers!

I love my KB! Johnny ran a 10.5 w/ it, so it is definitely putting out. We'll see quite a few Kenne Bell 10 second trucks this year on blower alone!

You can change the plugs without removal of the blower.

If you want to make the mad power, Works 140 it is.

This should be a fun summer. I will be running high 11s and looking at taillights.

Maybe it is time to research that whole built motor thing.

Sounds like a personal problem that I don't think Teri will think highly of

All I can say is this aftermarket is getting way to expensive, I need a raise

As of right now, the target price for the Works 140 is $3850. The Works price is not designed to compete with the price of the KB. There's more cost involved with the Works 140, so the price is higher. The 140 inch Whipple used in the Works kit costs more than the 134 inch Autorotor used in the KB kit (the Whipple uses higher quality rotor packs made by Eaton, which have an almost zero failure rate), the Works 140 comes with a machined adapter plate matched to your lower intake instead of having holes for both and you just don't use some, and the Works 140 comes with the new intake casting (which is why the 140 makes more power than the KB at the same pulley ratios) that costs quite a bit to make. And if you figure in what the new KB replacement intake may cost ($300 maybe), you're up to $3300 for the KB, which is just about $500 less than the Works, and the Works is still a larger, better quality blower.

That's just my 2 cents on it. Either blower is going to make honkin power, so just compare all the features, weigh all the sides, kick all the tires, and decide which you like better.

What about the sound of these blowers? I realise it's hard to describe but I think many people would like to know how their truck is going to sound after dropping 3-4k

Anybody have any sound clips? worth a try
