Good post Sal.

Those are some of the reasons I am buying a Works 140. The new KB is a good unit also and JL has proven it can make his truck haul A$$. Also I gues it comes down to who you want to deal with PSP, JL, or REM. All these shops are great with good people working at them. I have spent money with all three of these guys so I have no bias against any of them. I just like the new Works better than the KB.

Lets keep the Blower Wars on the track were the results will speek for themselves

??

Autorotor superchargers do NOT meet QS-9000 certification, and are used on NO production OEM vehicles.
I guess you forgot about the Carrol Shelby Dodge Durango SP360 HUH??

Not only was it a modified Durango with a KB supercharger on top, but it also carried a 7/70 powertrain warranty that included the supercharger.

I am going to treat these new blowers like new modeled cars. I will give it a year and see what happens.

Well I can see that this is going to get out of hand with the above two post. Anyway I've been dealing with blowers for about 10 years now,Vortechs and a Kenne Bell, and I feel both of these units will be good no matter what. I think the Works will make more absolute power due to it being bigger and rear entry. I however have signed up for a Kenne Bell because I wanted to keep my truck stock appearing when you pop the hood and it will deliver all the power that I will need. Another reason as I have had my upper Extrude honed and feel that it will help with the Kenne Bell. I will agree that Kenne Bell service sucks but I'm hoping any problems that I might have can be dealt with through Johnny. If you are going for absolute maximum power and do not care about the lopsided intake I say the 140 is for you. If you are looking for a big jump over stock and would like to keep your engine bay and plug access the same go with the Kenne Bell.

By the way the nuff said for Sal is on the spray with a stock eaton not really a comparison but I'm sure we'll see one soon

Remeber before everyone chooses a tuners side they are all here to help you!!

Posting JLs ET doesn't prove that the KB is better than the Works. It just proves the KB works well enough to produce that timeslip, which nobody is disputing. People wanted a reason why one is better than the other, and I gave my reasons. Posting ETs and such doesn't prove any one of the two is better, unless you've got ETs from the same truck with each blower.

While I definitely appreciate the support, posting my ETs are also irrelivant to this thread because I'm not running a screw blower.

Grey03, yes I did forget the Shelby Durango, probably because it was a pathetic attempt at a performance vehicle, that couldn't even break into the 15s in the 1/4, even with a KB powered 360. I've driven them. Ironically, the Shelby Omni from the mid 80s was faster than that truck.

Once again, people asked for reasons why one is better than the other. It's a legit question. There should be no popcorn, and wars in this thread.

Here my experience and my opinion.

In my experience the OLD style KB blowers were UGLY and made a nasty bad, awful noise going down the track. I only saw one or 2 and they were on slow trucks, 2 years ago so its not a good benchmark. They appear to have come along way. I have no personal experience with Works products

Lets keep in mind that timeslips are facts, phone numbers, prices, specifications etc all facts. Most everything else is opinion or experience. Lets not confuse the 2. To say something is better than another is by definition an opinion.

You could MAYBE say something was faster than something else BUT that would require as was mentioned before a side by side, apples to apples test, THEN it would be a fact on that truck on that day.

The exciting part of this is that 2003 is going to be an exciting year. New blowers, and gosh only knows what else....

Lets keep this civil...
Thanks
Doug

I was given the same advice, and I will be taking it.

I hope that everyone understands that 2-3% efficiency will make a minor difference in power--measurable, but minor. It is certainly a factor to be considered, but it would be well down my list. Blower reliability and customer service would be near the top of my list. Ease of integration with the other components would also be very high on that list.

Like Don said, having some initial build issues is not a big deal. The KB actually may have an advantage here, as there are more in the field right now, so KB can work out the bugs.
