FYI - things to look for ...
They don't put the wheel locks on because not all people want them on. Geez, I'm sure the dealer would put them on for you. It's a pretty simple job! I hope you aren't having this kind of attitude with the dealer, otherwise they may tell you to take a hike. Work with them and they will work with you.
nope
I'm venting here - actually I have a call in to the finance manager who hasn't returned my call - yet...
the sales droid says to bring truck in on Wednesday and they will inspect it to see what "they want to do" - See there lies the problem it should be what I want - not what they want...
I don't know do you think I'm being to picky - ??? Is it getting that bad now - that we shouldn't expect any quality anymore unless were spending over 50K -?
I mean I'm used to getting black coffee after ordering light at Dunkin' Donuts and driving off and checking the coffee to find black - but that's only $1.75 ...

Did you have the bag in the glove box with the extra wire harness and relays too? Just wandering if I'm the only one since no one else has mentioned it.

Like me... I am glad they didn't put mine on, I hate those things. They are EXTREMELY easy to get off with out the "key".

I would make them replace the antenna and the front cover. You did document these problems before you drove off didn't you? If not I think the warranty manual allows like 5 days to bring paint damage (minor scratches, etc.) to the dealers attention. Someone else may know more on this.

And I don't think you are expecting too much, too want your truck perfect. Your unhappy and its the dealers job to make you happy.
First off. No, for the most part you aren't being to picky regarding the front bumper cover, the antenna and the sticker. Not sure about what your invoice says regarding the passive alarm system so I can't comment on that, but you are being to picky about the wheel locks. It appears others on here preffered them not to be on also.
I know you're venting, and hopefully you aren't portraying this attitude with the dealer. They will work better with people who remain calm and reasonable.

Don't get so caught up in the wording of what the salesman said. They invited you to bring it back in, so that's a positive sign that they are willing to work with you. I would refrain from calling him a sales droid in front of him though.
The lesson to be learned here is to inspect the vehicle thoroughly and document anything you find wrong and have the dealer acknowledge it. That's the best time to negotiate what will need to be done and then have them put it in writing. That doesn't say you don't have the right to bring up other flaws that might show up at a later time, but the sooner you reveal any problems, the easier it is to get it resolved. You paid a lot of money for the truck and you have the right to have it new when you get it. Good luck.

I'm sorry but I agree 1 million percent with sonichog here.
When you buy a $30,000.00 vehicle that will cost you close to $45,000.00 after the loan, you expect to be treated like a ****ing King, AND SHOULD BE. I'm sorry for those of you who work in a dealership, I'm sure some people are waaaaaaaay over **** about picking up their new ride, with my attitude I'd end up telling some nasty old bitty to go **** Herself
"BUT" for the rest of us, the least they can do is the check list, the detailing, prep, etc...
BTW,
They forgot to detail the back of my truck, I guess no-one looked under the cover, but I let them slide on that one

Yo Sonic,
Mine was the aformentioned L' with the scuff in the front bumper cover. After listening to me rant and rave for five or so minutes the sales monkey offered up a new cover and a set of factory flaps to make me go away. I plan to color sand the scuff out with some 2000# and polish it.
I concur that you should have resolved any issues before accepting the truck and gotten it in writing as I did. I've gone round and round with these ***** birds more than once and their memories aren't very good once you sign your name.
Good luck

Unfortunately, $30,000 isn't that big of deal now days for a new vehicle so it's hard to expect the king treatment. Almost any decent car or truck is approaching the $30,000.00 price tag. When you start dipping into the Mercedes category or $50,000+, then you might get the king treatment.
Hey Rob, next time you buy a new truck for $30,000.00, give me a call. I'll loan you the money if you're going to be giving an extra $15,000.00 to the bank. I'll only take about $12,000.00. Geez, you pay $30,000.00 for a truck and the dealer makes about $2,000.00 to $3,000.00 if they are lucky and you want the king treatment from them, but then you pay the bank an extra $15,000 and you have no expectations from them.
Just playing with you. We all work hard for our money and should expect a quality product in return.

IMO it doesn't matter what you spend on a new vehicle you deserve to get what you pay for in new condition and treated with respect.
I totally agree 100%. I haven't heard anything in this post to say that Sonichog hasn't been treated with respect. It's unfortunate that these things happen, but they do. How they are handled is what differentiates the top dealers from the rest.

Didn't mean to imply that he was not treated with respect. I was just making a general statement.
I don't know about your financial condition but when I spend 30 - 32 thousand for a truck IT'S A LOT OF MONEY!!!
50,000 for a vehicle would be out of the question.

$30,000 is a lot of money to me also and I would expect a new vehicle to be near perfect even if I spent $15,000.00 on it. I was just teasing Rob_02Lightning about expecting king treatment for a $30,000.00 vehicle. Hopefully Sonichogs dealer will take care of him properly and he will get the satisfaction that he paid for and deserves. So far it sounds like they are working with him on it.
