The Rockpick we knew a year ago would be replacing the entire dash right now and installing a level switch.... must be old age.. j/k. You'll now be known as the guy with the crooked power slider switch!!!
Well, I've finally found some time today to take a few new pictures of the switch/power slider.

As you can see, 'the Rockpick that you knew a year ago..' did go ahead and replace the entire dash piece. LOL! I haven't changed. It's back to 'near' perfect. And, in turn, you'll notice that the switch is no longer crooked as I replaced it with the stock dash piece that is cut for the pedals/slider switches.

Also, here are a couple more pics of the power sliding rear window installed! (Oh yeah... someone had asked about the location of the XM antenna... please note that in the center on the roof - hardly noticable)

Thanks Andy. I appreciate it. If you need any of those other schmatics, don't hesitate to drop me an email. I've still got everything (I think).

Can you tell me the part # for the contour window switch? I am gonna be putting my glass in next week and want the factory switch. It is my understanding after reading all of this info. that if I purchase the switch from Ford for the rear slider that I can not illuminate it. Thanks for any help.

Rock..... What wires did you end up splicing into for illumination and power? I agree with the idea of splicing into the door loom window switches so it operates on the same delay. Thanks again for any help.

2020...

I'm not sure about the part number as two people that I know of have ordered the Contour switch and have recieved switches that are not illuminated. Mine, no doubt, is.

I nabbed mine off of a 1996 Contour that was in a junkyard. It was the front passenger side door. I also grabbed the wiring harness off of the door as well.

I have the wiring schematics that I used to splice grounds and illumination power off of the pedals switch thus, if you'd like that info, I'd be happy to email it over to you.

Let me know.

I found two different Contour switches online. I imagine the difference in their prices ($12 vs. $52) has to do with the illumination. I am happy with my $12 one for now until I can find a Contour in the junkyard. If you go to fordparts.com you can search in the Contour section for the window switches.

I would appreciate any extra info. like that. Shoot it to me here.

I will try to look for a 1996 contour switch. Did the switch come out of the car with the little black molding that I see surrounding it. Thanks for any help.

The black housing that surrounds the switch is, indeed, part of the switch.

I'll shoot the schematics your way.

HAHAHA!...

NO PROBLEMO...

If I'm not mistaken, the 1995 Contour will work too as my wife used to own one. I can assure you that all of the switches in that particular car were backlit.

Went out to the salvage yard this morning and picked up the switch and the wiring for a grand total of $10. I will wait until the window is installed before beginning the switch install and wiring though.

On a side note while I was there I purchased a auto dimming rear view mirror for $15. I had already bought one from Mito corp. but I will try to send it back once I get the used one installed. Not too bad a day at the salvage yard.
