AWESOME. THANKS SKAGEL. Got some questions for ya.

1. What brand/model slider does she have?

2. She have it installed at the dealership?

3. That switch came with the install? It wasn't a special order?

That switch appears to be the EXACT same switch as the pedals switch (with the left and right arrows of course). Not sure what the wiring harness looks like but, it sure looks visually the same.

Dave... thanks a bunch for the info. I'm just a wuss when it comes to electricity and I hate to do my first surgery on my baby. (it's kinda like getting a new puppy and doing the Bob Barker surgery (spay/neuter) on your own with no sterile tools or vet experience--I just don't have the *****). If I had a couple of friends that were good with this type of thing locally, I'd have them at the house for a cold one and a day full of fun and excitement installing a slider.... none of my friends are electrically inclined however. (hell, when I did the parking/fog light mod, I flew by the seat of my pants and didn't like the feeling) I live a looser life man.

Thanks a bunch for the help folks. I thought I might be the only one to have a switch like that with that mount config... guess I was wrong. Those 'gels' have it all figured out...

ummmm....well, mom's truck is an '02 fx4 lariat....it came with the truck from the factory.....so I am assuming you could go to the dealership order it and have them install it for you......i don't have a need for such a thing...I have something better, but a little more expensive....who am i kidding...a lot more expensive....it is called a child who sit in the backseat and occasionally does what he is asked.

You should be able to just order the switch from the dealer and use it with the power slider you bought separately. They are the same windows, just if you buy the window kit separately you get a different switch. I didn't feel like going through the hassle of getting the other switch, so I just installed the one that came with the slider. I wish now that I had gotten the right one. It would have looked much better. Oh well, nothing I can do now unless I use the existing hoel for something else that size.

Hey dufunnel, did you get yours from the dealership or somewhere else? I'm assuming you did the install yourself? Was it a tough install? Thanks for the info. I really like the switch that skagel showed on an earlier post. I'd like to have that look.

If I ordered the part through the dealership, should it come with that switch?

Thanks!

I ordered mine through the dealer, but it came with a different switch. If done at the factory, it has the right switch. If ordered as an afterthought, it will come with the other one like the one I have.

Dave... anyone.

Have any idea on that part # for that switch (like the one Skagel posted)? I can't seem to find it using the resources that are available to me.

Thanks folks.

Hey Rock,

You should be able to contact your local dealer and tell them you want the switch which actuates the rear slider that's either factory or dealer installed. The switch must be a viable Ford part since it's the same look and actuation as the pedal switch.

My $0.02 worth.

Does this mean you're gonna do it yourself????

Please post the part number of the switch when you get it...thanks I just had my power slider installed while I was on vacation, all I have to do is wire it. I'd really like to use the OEM switch, the one that came with the unit is big and boxy compared to the Ford switch.

S'CrewLoose-

Not a problem. As soon as I get around to starting this project up (which will happen once work settles down to a slow roar), I'll be sure to post.

Had the day off today... I made a trip down to the parts department....

I'm not 110% sure that this is the part number but, this is the one that the guy gave me....

F8R2-14529-KA
$54.53

I'm going to email www.oemfordparts.com and see if they can come up with this part and part # to confirm if it's the switch I want (like Skagel's mom's).

If ANYONE finds out anything on this switch, PLEASE post info!

RockPick,
I talked to Gary Starr @ fordpartsonline.com 1-800-549-2005 and ordered my switch. That is not the correct part # you have the Z as a 2....the correct # is F8RZ-14529-KA 42 dollars and change plus shipping. I bet if you try you may get it cheaper but you'll never get the customer service you get from these guys. Just my opinion....

Ed

Just a side note: The switch is a window switch from a Contour, you could probably get the switch and wire from a scrap yard if you had the time and inclination.

S'crewLoose,

Yup, you are correct. I couldn't read the guy's writing from the dealership. *shrugs*

THE CORRECT PART NUMBER IS SHOWN IN S'CREWLOOSE's last post! -----> F8RZ-14529-KA <-----

Hrrm, it's a switch out of a Contour? Interesting. My wife used to own a contour....if I had only known then.

Thanks for the info! I APPRECIATE IT!

Are we sure that this matches the picture of skagel's switch? I want to be certain before I order it.

I tried to get the guy to commit to it looking like the 'pedal switch' but, he said he couldn't be sure. Knowing that two of us came up with the same part number is fairly reassuring though. I hate to tell you that it's 110% the part dufunnel...

well the best i can do is let you know when it comes..i ordered it today and Gary is pretty good about getting things out right away....i'll let you know...he did read the description to me and it is ordered as a 2001 F150 Lariet Power Rear Window Switch. I ran my wiring today and livened it up using the included switch...I have to say it is a nice unit..being able to open the window from the drivers seat is going to be great this summer....I did remove the C.R. Lawrence Stickers from the window though..i just didn't like the way they looked......
