2004 F150 FX4 Ash Tray Rattle

Got my truck this weekend and have noticed a rattle coming from the ash tray. I removed the piece that sits in there with nothing else the same result. Is it just putting some foam tape to seat the tray better or what? thanks!

IDK if mine is the ash tray but i too have a rattle, i think i have isolated mine to somewhere in the center console area. You might check and see if one of the clips fell off of that cover (the carbon fiber deal) and down into the bottom, i dropped a clip down there once and it rattled till i was able to fish it out.

Yeah I noticed when I just put a little pressure on the bottom corner the rattle goes away. I'm putting some thin foam tape on each side to get it to seat tighter.

Your ashtray rattle is beyond me. Mine rattles sometimes but if I open it and then close it the rattle goes away. As for your headliner... Mine rattled also. Over every bump and when you closed the doors. I removed the dome light and looked into the headliner with a flashlight. There are 2 rubber blocks that act like a spacer to hold the headliner in place. They are fastened to the headliner but not the roof. I cut 2 thick peices of foam weatherstripping and stuck them inbetween the blocks and the roof. It was the kind that was sticky on one side and not on the other. So far almost a year and no more rattles. Hope this helps.

When you remove the light, take a flashlight and shine in the hole to the rear corners. You will see 2 rubber blocks, 1 on each side. I placed the weatherstripping on the end of my finger nad then placed it right on top of the blocks. This goes between the roof and the blocks. You will need to pull the headliner down slightly to get the weatherstripping in place.
